Since the opening happy hour is no longer, need to make some changes to this raffle. Here are the new rules:
1. Respond to this thread that you want to be part of the raffle.
2. Your response will be your raffle ticket in that I’ll add your forum user name to a list of names.
3. Entries close at midnight on January 11 because I’ll need to find time to compile the names into a list and don’t want to have rush doing that the day of the happy hour.
4. During the virtual happy hour, I’ll use an online app I found that will randomly pick a name from the list for the winner.
5. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN.
6. I will contact the winner to arrange receipt of prize.ORIGINAL POST:
Why wait until the end of Freezing Saddles to win a Pointless Prize??? So I’m going to do a raffle for a piece of kit that someone could actually use during Freezing Saddles. This will be awarded at the happy hour, so YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
What am I raffling? A pair of men’s GORE C5 Thermo Bib Tights+. These are size XS but the way GORE has re-done their sizing, it’s really more like a size S. I have a previous model year size S and the new model year size XS fits me just the same (FYI, I’m 5’8″ and 130-ish pounds). Here is GORE’s men’s sizing chart:

The winner doesn’t have to be a man or this size but you’re going to get men’s size XS (which is more like S). You can always gift them/pay them forward to a deserving soul.
Some product info:
Compacting thermal bib tights with DWR and WINDSTOPPER® fabric along the groin protect from cold and road spray while insulating and supporting your muscles. A breathable WINDSTOPPER® cup offers additional wind and spray protection while creating space. For riders tackling endurance rides in harsh conditions.Product pic:
These are new but without tags (so they can’t be exchanged). Because they’ve been worn once for a “photo shoot” for the PEZ holiday gift guide. But not ridden in. Yes, they’ve been since washed!
Pic of yours truly wearing the bib tights:

4. I will bring my laptop to the happy hour and use an online app I found that will randomly pick a name from the list for the winner.
5. YOU HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. If the first name drawn from the list isn’t present, I’ll draw another name and keep doing so until we have a winner who is at the happy hour. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Uh … yes. The GORE women’s Ability Thermo Bib Tights+, however, are female friendly. Sorry I don’t have a pair of those to raffle!

126 views but so far you’re the only person to sign up. If that trend continues, you’ll win by default.
December 22, 2021 at 1:32 am #1115143AlanAParticipantI guess I should add some competition and make it a 50/50 chance. I’m sure I know some tiny people that I could give them to. No way I would ever use an XS/S.
December 22, 2021 at 5:06 am #1115150Sophie CWParticipantRaffles are always fun. You got to be in it to win it! Thanks!
December 22, 2021 at 12:34 pm #1115172chuxtrParticipantGame on!
December 22, 2021 at 4:22 pm #1115165secstateParticipantI could potentially fit into this, depending on the week. Count me in!
December 30, 2021 at 5:23 pm #1115231joshParticipantI can maybe fit into an XS. If you’re OK with a slacker/friend of BAFS entering who isn’t located in the area, count me in. If not, then I’ll survive and I understand.

Hey Josh! I need the winner to be able to pick them up for me, so you’ll have to survive and understand. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
January 5, 2022 at 1:56 pm #1115612chuxtrParticipantSo far, only FOUR entries for this raffle. I know they’re men’s size XS (that really fit like a size SMALL) and not everyone wears that size, but certainly they’re have to be more than four of you who would want a pair of higher end thermal bib tights for winter riding??? Did I mention that these retail for $170??? Entries close at midnight next Tuesday.
January 5, 2022 at 3:39 pm #1115616DCAKenParticipantAdd my name, please!
January 5, 2022 at 3:48 pm #1115617lordofthemarkParticipantMen’s small would fit me, I guess? (5 feet not quite 6 inches, just under 140 pandemic pounds – well many of y’all know what I look like)
I’m in I guess.
