ParticipantBeer and appetizer specials start at 4 pm, I think. Also, Cap City has been very generous in letting us use their private room at no cost.
It would be fantastic to show your appreciation in tips and by ordering appetizers or meals. Several appetizers are half price during happy hour. And of course there are the beer specials!
See ya’ll soon!

Hey all, I just started a new thread for the late shift. I’m leaving Dupont at 545. If anyone is leaving later than 530, maybe we can meet up? I have no idea how to get anywhere in VA so would like to officially start a late convoy.
I’ll be leaving from 15th and H circa 6:00. We could meet up at the start of the 15th St cycletrack by the Treasury Department’s corner. I used to live in Crystal City, so have a good idea of how to get to Cap City.

Sorry, I meant the beer specials start at 4… no?
I may try to meet you guys on the MVT at Crystal City at 4:20 or so. Wouldn’t be able to stay past 5:30 and not 100% sure I can go, so if you don’t see me when you are riding by, then don’t stop to wait.

ParticipantDo you know how to get there? I could get to you by 6 and ride with you. I live in Takoma Park and have no freaking clue what anyone is talking about with these directions. I have a phone, but I don’t trust it with new routes.

Unfortunately, I can’t generally get away from my desk until 6:00. Hopefully I’ll be able to slip out a bit early today, but in any event I’ll be well behind the caravan. See y’all there!

ParticipantSorry, I just saw this. OK, let’s meet there circa 6. I’ll be in a pink jacket with yellow helmet cover.
What’s your name, btw?
Thanks!April 3, 2014 at 5:09 pm #997672Sarah Dots

ParticipantSo I’m not seeing anyone that wants to join the middle shift… Please speak up, otherwise, I will not stop to look for others (and I may leave late and/or decide to go the short route using the Memorial Bridge to the 27 Trail of Wow-This-Sucks-As-A-Bike-Trail).

ParticipantIn view of the large number of people coming by bike – please be thoughtful about where you lock your bikes so that you don’t impede pedestrians or intrude on the enjoyment of outdoor diners.
There is a lot of bike parking throughout Shirlington Village (which is only two short blocks long). Many U racks are available near the bus/transit station and at the library at the end of the street. There are also several other U racks scattered around, in addition to lamposts you can lock up to by cable lock.
Thanks!

Sorry, I changed plans twice (am now riding in from DC), and when a HH starts at 4pm, a 4:15 departure actually is a bit late, really.
Jump ship! Is there anyone else in the 445 group that knows the way? (sorry, haven’t been following this thread too much.)
I’ll be in the 4:47ish group, and can think of about 6 different ways to get there. I suggest either LBJ Grove or Memorial Bridge to Army-Navy.

You didn’t reserved the outdoor fenced in area for our WABA volunteer bike valet corral?

Thanks! In case you don’t see my PM and for anyone else who might want to join: I’m Ryan. I’ll be the tall white guy wearing a grey suit and a yellow tie by the Treasury Department and the 15th St cycletrack around 6:00PM. My bike is an old silver mountain bike rebuilt with front and rear racks and a big saddle bag.

ParticipantJust go earlier to beat the rain. Screw the rules and the guy I saw in a Velominati jersey yesterday.

ParticipantI’m hanging out on a bench next to the refreshment stand. 60 year old white female, yellow and white jersey, black tights, seriously overloaded bike.
