The Reston Parkway tunnel is not photo worthy, but the Colts Neck tunnel is adorned with murals on both sides. Thoreau’s Ensemble contains over 700 art submissions from locals, young and old. More info: https://publicartreston.org/project/public-art-at-colts-neck-road-underpass/ In honor of the named tunnel, I’m calling my wormhole From Food to Thought. Best way is to meet at Hunters Woods Village center, take the loop around Wells Fargo bank and up to Southgate. Go west young man.

Ohhhhh that is a cool looking hole, that entrance alone makes one go interstellar! Well done

Another wormhole maybe? I call this the Wunder Garden Express. This is the little trail that connects to the south end of the MBT that is sometimes locked and allows you to cut across to L St rather than dropping off at M St. Not as convenient with a bike since you have to go down a flight of stairs but it allows you to go to the front of the line at Wunder Garten!770d8a8ded351e88f2f470942441cba0.jpg4f42731d955ac656b8ce281adc0413d2.jpg

This looks worthy as a #publicartfinder destination while in Reston on a #lakefinder quest!

Christening this “Old Burnside Bridge Road Wormhole”, took us from the road back to the park via portage up the culvert

The OG is delighted by this wormhole. Portaging up a culvert? Badass! And navigating around a closed gate into a tunnel. Now that’s true wormholing!
Kudos

Here’s a wormhole I use all the time. That said, it’s not particularly useful to anyone else the way I do it, but variations are.

I call it the Rutherford B Wormhole, because it connects S. Hayes St. w S. Hayes St.

Note that S. Hayes is disconnected, interrupted by the Aurora Hills Branch library and the park.

What if one wants to go from one part of S. Hayes to the other?
Well, you can cut through, using this curb cut by the CaBi Station:

There’s a set of stairs. If you’re lame, you can carry your bike up the stairs

Or you can just ride up next to the stairs, like this:

Depending on your ultimate destination, using the parking lot and the parking lot entrance is also a useful shortcut, and doesn’t require minimal cross skills. Just know that if you have a bike you can pretty much get through this little interruption far easier than if you have a car.

WORMHOLE OF THE WEEK.
The WOW Report

Just a quick way to recognize the quirky warping mind bending explorations of our intrepid crew. I’ll aim for a Monday report each week

A straight up LOTM Custos Scientiae recognition to elizsnyder for the long ass named wormhole.

Intrauniverse Warmhole JMD-NLS.001x SnyAda …lexicon: JMD-NLS (John Marshall Drive-N Lexington St) 001x (first in that area) Sny (Snyder) Ada (Adams)

The fact is that it actually takes you longer to say the WHole name than to ride it, is Kudos enough, but what about the link she dropped about Intra-Universe wormholes and other Wholes???.

BikeDavid discovered a WarpBeerWormHole.… anything that gets me to beer faster is well played.

OG – First to VIDEO TECHNOLOGY! Ohh my the explorations that one can reveal. BUT also with the Original WormHole on the ChainBridge Connection to CCT. Well played.

Boomer – with plenty of entries, but wisely choose to rebrand one of his discoveries to R2D2 wormhole, who would’t want to ride that?

Catedrew – South Arlington Segregation Wormhole is one that warrants reflection and exploration.

Reji – had a strong entry with her multi-level Whole, but stole my hear and SarahB’s heart with the BEE fairweather wormhole. (It looks like an adorable WHole.)

Lefty – wants us to WormHole and explore art at the same time!!! Strong pull on the WormHole From Food to Thought.

BUT THE WOW — The ……….

CaseyKane50 which for some reason forgot to name the WormHole and choose to give us a riddle? “A wormhole that many pass, but few pass through” I am so not clear if CK50 actually was courageous enough to go through it by the description. But its such an anomaly that it actually has its own study: https://www.alexandriava.gov/uploade…016_030916.pdf

Any way, Sedar the explorer went forth and further reported on it and yet no name??? This very close to a FIVE IMPLODED STARS level WormHole!

The WOW of this week is the DirtyDukeDasher WormHole.

Ride on and explore!

A short wormhole on grass/dirt connecting two pieces of Brook Dr (Falls Church, VA). Brook Dr is located between 29 and 50, just southeast of Seven Corners.

It’s the “Choose Your Own Adventure” wormhole in downtown Vienna.
Sidewalks on either side of the road to connect.

Link to Google Map to see location
And a photo of what to expect.

Filipe, I know everyone loves this forum and it’s fun to see wormholes from everyone.

I created a Google Map (#Freezing Saddles WormHoles) to aid with collecting & finding wormholes.

• Anyone can view & edit
• This way you can see all the wormholes on a map in one place
• I started adding some wormholes posted on this forum already
• You can add a point, a line, or make a route (only if the route exists on Google maps)

I know you’ve been finding wormholes for years, so I thought the map would be a good way to start gathering them in one place.

Feel free to use, promote, modify, or ignore this completely.
Love to have any feedback or questions from anyone as well.
Google Maps can be a little awkward to figure out how to edit and use, but I don’t know anything that might be better/easier.

I LOVE IT! We got to teamwork this. Once one posts here on the forum, if one ***chooses one can add it to the google maps and make their own entry (Not required for WormHoling points as I don’t want it to be a barrier to discoveries). I will add some of the WOW entries or so. Or if anyone else is in the mood to Google it would be a good way to have them all in one place.

RIGHT ON!

This wormhole invites one to do a little cross country to connect parking lots. The win is that by doing this, the rider can avoid Rt. 50 when going from Jermantown Rd to Waples Mill. The path takes you over near the NRA building, so I’m calling it “Guns & NoRoads”

Looks innocent from this side

Looking back after successfully portaling through

I like this anomaly! Solid entry and exit. Solid name! 2Points.

You give a good description but the map, is rather tiny to see.

ride on.
