A wormhole that many pass, but few pass through. This wormhole connects Mill Road (near the Carlyle area in Alexandria to Duke Street. This wormhole has steps on both ends and a water feature in the middle of the tunnel. There is hope that someday this tunnel will be improved and likely lose its status of a a wormhole. Here is a study from 2016 https://www.alexandriava.gov/uploadedFiles/localmotion/info/Alexandria%20Tunnels_Final%20Report_2016_030916.pdf

Ohh my, are you reading my mind? That was going to be one of my extravaganza hunt for Wormholes side game.

I biked through it with some wormy water…. huck, but it did get me across!

Well Played! 5 POINTS! -1Point for not giving it a kick ass name….
Anyone else that rides through it can also get extra points with a description and WH name.

Ride on.!

Temporary (for a long time) wormhole on Chain Bridge Rd near Tyson’s. I call it the Construction Wormhole.
On the map, it looks like a road, but it’s closed off by concrete barricades and typically a parking lot for construction workers.
A great way to enter/exit Tyson’s (and now ride to Wegman’s :).
Link to location on Google Map
And a photo from this morning. Always looks like a traffic jam there :)

Love the connection. Don’t love that they’re parked in a bike lane. Don’t love that ever, even if the road doesn’t actually go through!

I just went over to Google Maps to get a better sense of where it is and guess what — it has a MARKER on Google Maps! Looks like a great wormy kind of hole!

Introducing the “Holmes Run Headwaters Wormhole” which is adjacent to and located to the north of reji ’s “Holmes Run Hyperleap” wormhole (see entry #17 above on this thread).

This wormhole also has multiple entry/exit points, including a Stairway to Gallows (and the dreaded Gallows Road intersection w/ Rt 50, I-495 and certain death) which leads to another wormhole portal to the Accotink Stream Valley, home to the CCCT which Reji often seeks.

In the opposite direction (East), one can connect to Lake Barcroft via the Sleepy Hollow Swim Club portal.

Several hard pack gravel routes, stream crossings, foot bridges, #parkfinder targets and dog walkers abound within this complex of wormholes.

Today I rode what I’ll call the Falstaff Slow Roll Wormhole for the first time.
It’s a sidewalk & on Google Maps (link)

Usually I ride north on Lewinsville, but this avoids the hill and takes you to Falstaff (a nice neighborhood road too and puts you closer to Spring Hill back on Lewinsville).
It was a rooty, narrow sidewalk and curvy, so not so quick….definitely a long-cut and not a short-cut.

This wormhole would be SO MUCH better with a curb cut onto Oak St.!! There are even 3 bucks who live in here. I haven’t taken the north-south path along the creek in awhile because it was getting so eroded around the concrete platforms. Bumpity bump bump. It’s probably been built back up by now.

I hereby claim the #FHBNA multidimensional wormhole, or literally, the “Fire Hydrant but Not Arms” wormhole (zoom in on the trash can [emoji1005] sign for my inspiration).
81afcad0e1526aae420fd8ebb092b819.jpg

The non-descript entry off of South Oak Street in Falls Church VA is identifiable by the fire hydrant, the green R2D2 trash can with the “no fire arms” sign, and the “long fence” sign on the chain link fence around TJ Elementary School.

The East exit through Cavalier Trail Park comes out on S Maple Ave and leads me to 2 local bike shops, FC Distillery, Audacious Aleworks, Target, 2 coffee ☕️ shops or the only bowling alley around town!

The North exit is through Howard E Herman Park and used to lead me to the only brewery in town, Mad Fox (R.I.P.) on Leesburg Pike (Rt 7) or the old Post Office (now a Harris Teeters).

All entrances/exits can reversed to go E, W, N or S (but the later T-bones at the Elementary School, forcing an E or W decision)

I like this wormhole as it allows me to cris-cross Falls Church (west to east or vice versa) w/out having to deal with the hazards of Leesburg Pike, especially if you wan to stay south of that congested artery, and the 3 footbridges that cross over Tripps Run, which bisects the little City of Falls Church.

Statecrest Anti-Graviton Anomaly

Connecting 2 streets named “Statecrest” in the Broyhill Crest neighborhood of North Annandale, this wormhole is associated with an anti-graviton field pushing you back as you approach, and pushing you away as you leave (unlike the much more common graviton-emitting wormholes that pull you in). Quantum Astrophysicists are puzzled by this anomaly and are uncertain whether the anti-graviton emissions arise from the wormhole itself of are an entirely independent phenomenon, especially since the strength of the field differs between the north and south event horizons. Use this wormhole while transiting to and from the Annandale Rd. bike lanes to avoid the rough pavement on Masonville Dr.
