ParticipantIntroducing the “C2E2” Wormhole
This wormhole allows one to largely evade and elude (E2) just about anything associated with Crystal City (C2) congestion, Amazon HQ construction or whatever “National Landing” will become.
The anchor portals to this wormhole are the CC Water Park to the north, and CC Workout Park to the south. These parks are connected by a service road/alley that run behind the office buildings facing S. Crystal Dr.
If heading southbound, the northern C2E2 portal is adjacent to the previously described C2P2 “Party Portal” wormhole, where entry is through an office building driveway; be sure to stay left and do not enter the parking garage vortex on the right!
Beware of large Red meteorites while traversing the wormhole!
Upon exiting the southern C2E2 portal, one may experience glee that they are in a designated bus lane where bicycles are prohibited [emoji724] But if you survive the intersection, you will be greeted by a bike lane on Potomac Ave that will lead you to the Potomac Yard Trail and beyond!

There are 3 connections to this wormhole: E Street SW (at the corner of 2nd SW), G Street SW (at the corner of 2nd SW) and S Capitol Street (under the Southwest Freeway, 695).
Between E and G there is a staircase, down and up, to portage your bike and curb hops. The exit to S Capitol Street requires winding, about 1/4 mile, through a parking lot.I rode through this wormhole yesterday as it is the only way around the south side of Capitol Hill until the barricades and National Guard [emoji2010] go back to whence they came.
Couldn’t agree more with others’ comments on this thread about how frickin awesome this is, and with multiple portals to boot. I used this wormhole in the past to get from the National Mall area over to Nationals Park to catch some #Natitude. If that isn’t a level 5 transformative experience, then I don’t know what is!!!

ParticipantI call it “Tamani” as it connects the two sides of Tamani Dr in Herndon – but only for pedestrians and cyclists. It’s a nice cut through on neighborhood streets to keep you off Herndon Parkway.

I rode through this wormhole today, and as requested by the wormholemeister LuisFilipe I hereby dub it :
“C2P2 Wormhole”
Well known by NOVA bike commuters and coffeeneurs but perhaps most beloved because it leads to “Friday at the Fountain” Happy Hours at Crystal City Water Park where there is live music and food kiosk specializing in Peruvian fare with a white llama out front, and a bike maintenance station out back. Hence, the name Crystal City Party [emoji322] Portal (C2P2). It is adjacent to the C2E2 wormhole described below in this thread

Any chance that if we take this wormhole we can travel back in time to those photos? Please say yes.

ParticipantTo Wormhole Is Divine — Access this wormhole when heading north (downhill) at the S-curve on Old Chesterbrook Road (just off Kirby Road). Cross the end of the paved driveway of 6331 Old Chesterbrook and cycle up the (often muddy) trail to the end of Divine Street.
Your momentum should carry you through to the end of Divine Street, then you can head up the hill deeper into the El Nido neighborhood. Watch out for the herd of deer that hang out on Divine!

This wormhole may be of little use to anyone outside of the Chesterbrook/El Nido neighborhood of McLean, but no dismount required. And deer sightings almost guaranteed!

ParticipantNot that useful unless you are on the west side of Rockville but there is a wormhole to cut across from Wootton Parkway from Scott’s Road to Shady Grove Road by the Traville Gateway shopping plaza. Scotts’s Road eventually turns into Bald Cypress Dr which dead ends at a community center but if you take the trail (in red) you can cut across to Loblolly Terrace. Also spotted another trail in the woods that I didn’t try (in yellow) but that seems to lead directly to Traville Gateway Dr for an even faster wormhole to Giant!

This wormhole at the bottom of Haycock Road and Orland Street provides passage from Westmoreland Street to the Freedom Lane and Powhatan Street neighborhoods and beyond into Franklin Park.
There are four entrances/exits so some might call it the Orland Street Complex (eh, Boomer?). Or because of its connection to Westmoreland Street and its fine bike lane: the (westm)Orland Street Complex

This passed by me at first glance, but it’s a great example of a simple wormhole portal connection that once passed will keep pulling you back towards it.
I use it as part of larger WormHole variant that will take you off Williamsburg/Westmoreland and thus gives you a scenic/bucolic look as you ride the WormHole at different pace.
Too lazy to change the name now, but the Bucolic Haycock has a good ring to it.

ParticipantAdding 3 I went through on a recent ride.
I added them to the Google Map as well
Click on the name in the Google Map legend to have it highlighted on the map
I call them:
1. Gravel Gate – nice gate/opening in the fence to connect Highland & Williams Dr.
2. Horner Ct Connector – Elementary school cut through to connect the two Horner Courts
3. Briar Patch – short sidewalk to connect Briary Lane & Way. Great place to cross Little River T’pike at a lightJanuary 26, 2021 at 8:44 pm #1110307Kbikeva
Participant#FSWormhole Emerge
This is an underpass in Reston that was adorned in an art collaboration with an artist in residence and students of 4-6th grades at a nearby elementary school. It’s called “Emerge” and allows students to safely cross under the very busy Glade Dr. It can also be used to get to the nearby shopping center and community center. Sadly, very few students actually use this because parents in our area seem to think their little darlings must be driven to school (when it’s in person). If I were the empress, the criteria for “Kiss N Ride” use would be very strictly enforced!

ParticipantAn action shot of some of us over the weekend on Davids Strava Art ride. I think he gets to name the wormhole since he discovered it. The things that we do for art!

ParticipantI don’t think anyone has claimed this wormhole, the tunnel on Beach Dr. Not even sure if counts since everyone knows it. If the parallel Rock Creek trail was open then this would be a shortcut from the backside of the zoo to Conn Ave.

Participant#FSWormhole – Green Range
One of many underpasses/tunnels in Reston designed to link communities via paved paths. This one goes under very busy Glade Dr. It’s a safe way for kids from the low income apartments on the right to get to the neighborhood pool. Whichever way you turn on the far side, you end up on Green Range Dr., hence the name.
Due to the pool on one side and dinner on the other, my guess is that the gravitational pull of this wormhole is at its strongest in summer months when the pools aren’t closed due to COVID.

Name: Van Dorn Street Metro underpass
A descent to the Van Dorn Street Metro underpass from the north side of Eisenhower Avenue
This Van Dorn Street Metro underpass takes you from the north to the south side of Eisenhower Avenue without the risk of being killed in a road accident. -
