ParticipantHey you! Yes you! You are riding on the MacAth and you have a sudden urge to CCT? Why wouldn’t you.
Brave your way pass the poop plant and take the SLIP & SlIDE WormHole. (Added bonus that connect to the Chain Bridge OG WormHole)
Happy spacial explorations.
Ride on.

f.I resemble that remark!

ParticipantY2P3 2-Way Traversable Intra-Park wormhole
I discovered this anomaly in the time-space continuum of SE Vienna while searching for a bat (today’s photo-of-the-day).
It has a non-descript entry/exit with a high curb on Walker Street SW that could easily be mistaken as the entry way to someone’s house.
This wormhole leads to 3 different adjacent parks via a footbridge and a ramp that could be a launch [emoji573] pad for an interstellar experience if one gathered enough momentum. If one cannot escape gravitational pull, and somehow wade through the quantum foam, they are spewed out in the parking lot of Southside Park on Ross Dr SW.
The inspiration for the name (Y2P3) comes from the parks cubed: Southside, George C Yeonas & Vienna Stream Valley parks … all of which I claimed for BAFS2020parkfinder PP, so I restrained myself today from repeating those parks.

ParticipantBoomer!:
oh dayum, that’s good…We may invite you to the the Secret Society of WormHole Hunters with submissions like that…

I like this anomaly! Solid entry and exit. Solid name! 2Points.
You give a good description but the map, is rather tiny to see.
ride on.
f.Maybe this works better. It’s a battle between close enough to see and zoomed out enough to show surrounding roads that might help people find it. I don’t always get the balance right. [ATTACH=CONFIG]22617[/ATTACH]

This is in Loudoun County and is another way to get back from the area near Dulles Town Center to Sterling and then to Herndon. Unlike the Choolaah Connection Wormhole which is good but through areas with heavy traffic, this one goes through a lovely, bucolic park that is worth exploring off road as well. (In fact, the remainder of Vestals Gap road, a pre-Colonial road, is in this park). That is why I’ve called it “MooreBetter”.

This one is clutch! My dad showed it to me back in the day, it’s pretty helpful for getting from the “western” W&OD to my parents’ place (in Sterling). Rider beware that the part by Park View High School has a gate that’s sometimes closed and locked (I think just at night, but I’m not sure). Climbing over a tall fence with a bike is not recommended, I cut up my thigh pretty good one time getting over it.

Well, this explains all the car debris on the MVT this morning.

There are signs saying the park closes at 5, but I’ve not been there after about 3. I have no idea whether it’s locked at night these days. I do know there are very few students hanging around!

We are back from the future. Go tell your old self to buy some TP.
I am sponsoring the Wormhole prize this year again, and recognize Boomer, bikenick as winners of the 2020 edition and SteveO has the OG of Wormholes.
Could we have the #FSWormhole added to the leaderboard?
RULES:
Have you ever bent the spacetime continuum on a ride and wondered how did I get there so fast and yet it seemed slow?
If the concept of time is just something to be toyed with, then this prize is for you!
What’s a wormhole? It’s kinda like you know it when you ridden through it.
******* EDIT *******
I am going to edit this rule from last year: Once a wormhole has been identified, that is it others can go interstellar on it but they won’t get a further point.
CHANGE: Even if it’s identified/claimed by someone else and you ride through it, you can still ### it and gather a point.
The whole point of this side quest is make our connections between places easier, so go on and hypercyclespace your away around.
********************
Claim your spatial discovery on Strava with #FSWormhole and give it NAME (ie: The universe’s most inadvisable wormhole) and describe it here, post photos etc.
We have some previous explored wormholes from the past edition, which if you get to ride them this year you can claim but as always there are extra points for novelty and quality of wormholes.
What makes a quality wormhole? You know it once you ridden through them, if it brings a smile to you face you are doing it right, if it almost kills you talk to Steve.
Ride on,
Filipe
Clinton, MD under Brinkley Road.

Quick ass name, WormHole, 2Points. We must remember that Josh almost lost a leg for this wormhole.

ParticipantIntroducing 2 spatial anomalies within close proximity to one another, which may explain the strong gravitational pull of the Tyson’s Corner quadrant in the NOVA Universe.
#Quantum Drive Orbital wormhole
#Faux Chain Link (or Rabid Dog) wormhole
Both of these wormholes are of the 2-way Traversable variety (as we have been previously schooled by [mention]elizsnyder [/mention]
and allow one to get from Gallows Road to/fro Tyson’s Corner Mall with much lower risk of becoming road kill.
The unassuming and at first glance “short” Quantum Drive Orbital wormhole feels unstable as thorns shred your Lycra, diverting your attention, and spitting you right back out on Gallows Road where you will surely be hit by a red-on-right-w/o-looking larger mass at the dreaded “Tooth Fairy” intersection (so named for the former dental [emoji3103] practice at that location that had a large tooth sculpture out front). But the true value of this wormhole is that it allows you to evade the Tooth Fairy altogether, especially on the RETURN orbit from the Tyson’s Corner Malls to Gallows Road (and the wide but rough sidewalk of oncoming headlights [emoji102])
Along this flight path one can again detour away from Gallows Road and certain death via the ** Faux Chain Link wormhole ** (apparently made of plastic) on Madron Lane, near the pond with no name. This connects via the black hole of townhouses to Oak Street which offers safe passage over the I-495 Beltway towards the W&OD trail at Idylwood Park (via Idylwood Rd ->Hurst ->Virginia Lane … or reverse if headed to Tyson’s).
But beware!! This wormhole is guarded by rabid dogs that may gnaw on you as they drag along clueless biped creatures lost in another dimension, so bring doggie treats with you for toll fare!

Participant** @DCpollo Taco [emoji895] Transect Wormhole **
While conducting reconn in the hostile territory of Tyson’s Corner for my upcoming #publicartfinder ride, I found this wormhole through a delivery alley that is a transect between Tyco Road & Greensboro Drive.
The benefits of this wormhole are that it (1) truncates a hill climb on Tyco Rd, (2) circumvents the hazardous Tyco Road – Spring Hill Rd intersection, and (3) eliminates a left hand turn from Spring Hill Rd onto Greensboro Drive in order to access the Greensboro MetroRail Station via Solutions Drive.
I originally overshot this portal while climbing up Tyco Road, and was sucked up by the parallel but much more turbulent ** dogtopia wormhole ** full of barking dogs, distracted dog owners in large SUVs, a nasty incline with a blind line-of-sight and annoying double humped speed bumps tightly spaced together.
Once free of dogtopia’s gravitation force, I doubled back and executed a reverse osmosis maneuver to enter the ** @DCpollo taco [emoji895] transect wormhole ** backwards, which revealed a line of @DCpollo taco [emoji895] food trucks parked at the 2-way portal … and the inspiration for this wormhole’s name.
