Gee, I notice in Google Maps that Clare & Don’s is only a 15.2 mile ride from Bethesda via Crescent Trail and the W&OD… :p

Less than that by way of Chain Bridge :( but there’s a couple of fun hills to wheeze on. ;)

We usually have way more than 45 for the final HH. Will have to hope for good weather.
Also will have to think about how to do the awards with people both inside and outside.

Also, im multimodaling with my bike to east falls church and then biking 8 minutes to the venue. I would love love a guide familiar with the area if anyone else is doing the bike – metro – bike thing and knows how to safely get to the place….

Me too probably. We can maybe meetup at East Falls Church at 630?
I haven’t searched the whole thread, how is bike parking at the HH location? Heavy lock? Cafe lock? Corral?

I’ll probably be riding home to Maryland leaving no later than 7:45 or so if anybody wants to join. -Jeff

Can I RSVP as 80%/likely/maybe? that’s my work-in-the-office day all the way up at AU.

It is pretty far from Silver Spring but I’m going to try and make it. Will probably do something multimodal.

There is a covered outdoor seating area, very popular in the summertime. It will be pretty much unused for patrons on a cold, January Tuesday, and we have been granted permission to put our bikes there. It is accessible from the rear parking lot. Bikes will likely be completely safe there even unlocked, but feel free to lock to itself or to a friend’s bike, etc.

Here is a safe and easy way to get there. Note the circled section is trail. As you travel south on Tuckahoe one block from the Metro, continue straight onto the trail.

If you are inclined to pay a visit to and ride over the Pete Beers Memorial Bridge (circled), this is an alternate route, also safe and easy.
