I’ve decided to sell my Raleigh Super Tourer. Simply too many bikes, and I’m not riding this often enough.
Raleigh Super Tourer DL135 light touring cycle built at Raleigh’s Carlton works. Frame is 22.5” Reynolds 531 double-butted main tubes, forks, and stays. Bocama Professional lugs and half-chromed stays and fork blades. “Bronze mink,” i.e. coffee, and silver color. TA Cotterless crankset with single chain ring, Simplex 5-speed freewheel (14/28T) , Suntour rear derailleur with stem-mounted shifter. Weinmann Symetric side-pull alloy brakes. Alloy touring handlebars, GB stem. 27 x 1 ¼ wheels with Normandy Competition, large flange, quick-release hubs. Brooks comfortable leather sprung saddle. Lugs for air pump under top tube. I just weighed this bike at 26.0 lbs with pedals, toe clips. bottle cage, bell, and saddle bag.
When I bought the bike 4 or 5 years ago, I replaced all ball bearings and also the bottom bracket with a Shimano UN54. I last regreased the bearings about 2 years ago, but have kept the chain clean and lubricated. The paint and metal surfaces have not been restored or polished; they have a vintage patina, which is my preference. Mechanically perfect: shifter shifts, brakes brake, wheels are true.
