ParticipantWhat are we setting as the cut-off time for rides next Wednesday? I vaguely seem to remember seeing 9PM somewhere (maybe in the Pointless prizes thread…?) but searching through here I can’t find anything.
9PM… Midnight? I’m assuming rides must be started and finished by the cutoff time. What about data uploads?
EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer to my question. Rides must be posted to the leaderboard by 9:30PM on Wednesday night – make sure you take into account the delay on the API data-pull from Strava. I think there’s a 15 minute lag….so get those rides into strava by 9PM folks.

ParticipantLove the photo.
The 9:30 deadline is for the first place award. Not sure what ACL and the masters of pointless awards are saying.

Ride uploaded as late as possible?
Most Delinquent Ride upload?March 13, 2013 at 7:16 pm #964540hozn
ParticipantI will have my site/db follow the same rules for consistency. — i.e. Rides have to be *uploaded* by 9:30 pm to count.

I sent hozn and ronwalf a PM this morning to confirm whether or not the leaderboards would quit counting at the end of the competition, so if I check it on Thursday morning to determine the winners I know if it’s correct or has added Thursday’s am commutes or something.
Hans said he’d coordinate with Ron to make sure they stop counting at the same time. I’m not positive at this moment when that time will be (or if Ron’s already got that programmed in)– I don’t really have a preference myself. Whatever they agree on is when it’ll be. If anyone has a preference 9pm vs midnight vs something else, speak up quickly before they decide.

ParticipantMy 9:30 pm deadlines has to do with my bed time. Figured I would turn on the computer – take a screen capture at 9:30 – make the announcement (because I am hoping that at least the first place team will come to Phoenix Bikes event). Oh hey, I gotta send a note to Henry….

Not to confuse – but this is a little different than what I said above. So please disregard my note above about the API delay. Sounds like we’re going with a 9:30 Strava upload cutoff time. That is, a ride must be Synced with your Strava account by 9:30PM on Wednesday. rcannon, if I remember Ron’s description of the Leaderboard mechanics correctly, that means you’ll have to wait till 9:45 for your screen-cap, because the data pull that will register the last rides will actually happen shortly after 9:30. (I recall it being a kind of odd set of 15-minute intervals, like 4, 19, 34, 49 minutes after the hour or something like that)
Or am I misunderstanding all of this and confusing unnecessarily?

ParticipantYou are right, sorry to create confusion; what I said was subtly different than what you wrote. I don’t know the cron schedule for the official leaderboard. I was planning to ensure my sync script runs at 9:30 or just after and basically any subsequent runs would fail the “is it before end of competition?” check.
It sounds like Ron’s method may have a little gray area (e.g. if he’s not tired by 9:30 — maybe out cycling himself!), but I think the gist here is to make sure rides are uploaded by 9:30 to guarantee they count. I am assuming that Ron will make any necessary allowances for the sync schedule if his script.

ParticipantSteve O. doesn’t usually upload his rides daily. So Team V is probably 40+ pts behind. Oh and JDAntos just logged another 30 miles.
