Liz descended like a pro at the S curve of death. Me, on the otherhand, white-knuckling and going slow enough to auto-pause the Garmin (hang head in shame)
I was braking, too, but I didn’t want to brake any harder lest I start skidding. Well, we all made it down safely and that’s the important thing. It doesn’t have to be artistry!
Nice riding with dcv. And fun playing in the snow!

Wishing everyone a safe trip home, regardless of means of transportation used.

Ugh, I haven’t even THOUGHT about tires yet. $$$
I gotta see to those new brifters and get my derailleur working properly this weekend. One of these days I’ll have time to go test ride new bikes
(Oh, very funny, Amazon. I do a search for “winter mountain bike tires” and one of the results is a CycleOps Mag trainer. )
January 24, 2013 at 7:08 pm #960784ShawnoftheDreadParticipantI got some Nokkian studded tires on CL last month and they came with this hard rubber bulb. Neither the seller nor I were sure what it is. Anyone?

Does it attach to a tool that you can use to replace missing studs?

It is a Finnish winter helmet decoration. Screw it to the top of your helmet behind your headlight.

If you haven’t started yet, you’re gonna have to be Russian to get it all done!
