ParticipantI’d be happy to do this award? Last year we did a second golden nugget to the rookie with the longest 1-1 ride. Im happy to present this award as the previous beneficiary last year and great the “golden” nugget.
Also, just to be clear, does the January first ride need to completed by mid night 1-1. Lets just say hypothetically of course that some one road till 2-4am on the 2nd. Would the ride need to be stopped and started again at midnight?

ParticipantEric, thanks for offering to present the Jan 1 Freezing Saddles Newbie Award for 2016! I had forgotten about that one.
I was the creator and presenter of this award last year, and the terms I set were for riding the most miles between midnight Dec. 31 and midnight Jan 1. My intent was that any miles before midnight Dec. 31 and/or after midnight Jan 1 wouldn’t count.

Participantso if my calculations are correct the rookie Nugget goes to David Q for riding 116.6 miles on January 1st. If there are any other rookies out there who believe they may have ridden a longer ride or no of someone who did please be sure to upload the ride and let me know. The Nugget is getting ready to be shipped out for engravings (or scribbled on with a sharpie), so please I really don’t want to put the wrong name on it.

ParticipantThe Golden Ingot has been cast, sort of carefully engraved via the time honored “impact method” by a bad spellar with poor handwriting and given its lustrous coating.
I suspect that the slightly warmer weather will be due to the heat given off this massive object during the post casting cooling off phase.
