Farfax County Bicycle Master Planning Meeting – TOMORROW 3/6 in Chantilly

The Fairfax Co Bicycle Master Plan process has been underway since last summer. There are only two more subarea bike planning meetings left. The Centreville/Chantilly meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 6 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Sully District Governmental Center, 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly. If you’re familiar with the western area of the county it’s a good chance to provide input to the plan.

Hi, this meeting is TONIGHT. In true Hinterlands style it is in Chantilly. There are many cyclists in Chantilly who work in service jobs and bicycle to work. You will see people biking with shopping bags while chatting on cell phones. You’ll see hopping on a bus on route 50 after putting their bike on the front rack. We did a bike light giveaway in this area last winter and there is much to be desired in terms of outreach and safety education.

We hope you can come to the meeting tonight and give input on the Bicycle Master Plan. We’ll be pointing at maps and giving our feedback. Please join us.
