Duane the Tysons Bike Flipper Strikes Again

Usually I have no problem with Duane. He tends to sell nice higher end road stuff. But he often posts in ALL CAPS and asks way too much. Still I don’t begrudge the guy trying to make a buck. And for some weird reason I always tend to click on his ads, and I’ll occasionally ask a question in email before realizing, “Oh…its Duane. I should automatically assume this item is overpriced by at least 30%”.

Except he’s posted a bike that may be illegal to sell: a Salsa “La Cruz” frameset listed that may have a recalled fork. And typically, I emailed a question about it before realizing it was him. I have yet to hear from him about it, but I hope he gets back to me or at least updates the ad since it is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

LOL; he just got back to my email suggesting he check his serial numbers for the recall, in typical Duane style. Lately he’s been laying off the ALL-CAPS in favor of no-caps, no-punctuation and a few extra spaces thrown in to keep it interesting:

If you read the recall notice, only the black La Cruz forks are affected. As long as it’s a La Cruz frameset and not a Vaya, he’s fine.
