Team Bikenetic announces a brand new event in a brand new format: the Dirt Crit.

What is it?

It’s pretty much a Road race:

• USAC-permitted & MABRA Officiated
• Road upgrade points apply
• Road Crit rules apply
• 2.4 km closed loop
• Pit with free lap rule
• Mass start
• 45 minute races for adults, 20 min for Juniors
• Every major Road field: Women & Men, Cat 5 to Pro/1/2/3; & Masters Men.
• Combined field limits of 75.

But it feels more like a Cross race (but no obstacles, 100% riding here):

• Hardpack dirt, light gravel, a smidgen of grass, and a tiny bit o’ pavement
• 32mm+ tires *strongly* recommended
• Practice your gravel cornering skills!
• Single Speed, MTB, & Tandem fields
• Anything Goes field w/ costume & weirdest bike prizes
• Java Cruiser food truck
• Acme Pie
• BEER (brewery tba)
• Bill Schieken. Just kidding; he’s out of town. But still!

Pre-reg opens this Monday June 13 at 8:00 pm — Start-Line Call-Ups to the first 20 Pre-Reg’ed in each combined field. (Otherwise it’s your usual Roadie free-for-all).

I had a wonderful time at the race. This was the first time that I saddled up for competition and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My wife, who acted as my pit woman, also enjoyed her day on the course, watching races and chatting with people.
