Is that a CaBi in the second photo?
April 10, 2021 at 4:20 pm #1114132dbehrendParticipantYes, it looks like the victim was riding a CaBi.

April 10, 2021 at 7:06 pm #1114133dbehrendParticipantAt about 7:30 p.m. Friday, the bicyclist and a Kia were traveling west on Massachusetts Avenue NW near the intersection with Second Street NW. A Honda that was also westbound struck the rear of the car and the bicyclist simultaneously, police said. Both the Kia and Honda then drove into the intersection and struck two other cars that were northbound.
Three motorists, including the driver of the Honda, were taken to a hospital for minor injuries, police said. The bicyclist was taken to a hospital and died there from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police on Saturday they would identify the bicyclist after the person’s family had been notified.

After the installation, there will be a memorial ride to the Wilson Building (14th and Pennsylvania NW) for a moment of silence.
For those who can’t attend in person, it looks like there’ll also be a livestream (on Facebook?) – details to follow in the FB link above.
April 15, 2021 at 4:58 pm #1114158LhasaCMParticipantAs a reminder: the ghost bike installation and memorial bike ride for Jim Pagels will be tonight at 6PM. We will gather at the NW corner of New Jersey and Massachusetts NW, and the memorial ride will take us to the Wilson Building (near 14th and Pennsylvania NW).
