Another aspect of this story is that a Twitter vigilante mob went after the wrong guy, after erroneously identifying him from a Strava ride. The cops added to this fiasco by initially posting the wrong date for the incident.

Massive and lethal abuses of power by police have us in the streets, yet here we are, relying on police to *properly and accurately* ID the suspect, Brennan. Two *mis-identifications* by us amateur detectives did not help.
Yes I know we are all MAD AS HELL. I am too. Massive police reform is needed in many places to undo ingrained cultures of extreme prejudice. A few departments might need to be dissolved and reconstituted. The attitude of the Outrageous Man behind the black fence needs to be dealt with as well. His acolytes, enablers, and collaborators too. But I hope on this *one* occasion, Maryland-National Capital Park Police earned a small amount of trust for doing their job well.
