ParticipantI think the important thing here is branding Bike Arlington (maybe specifically BikeArlington.com). Personally, I adore “Free curbside parking, brought to you by BikeArlington.com”
It brands, and makes me feel like I’ve been given something special by said brand

ParticipantI don’t have any great slogans, but what about a passport for shopping or dining around Arlington? You get a stamp if you visit a store by bike. It could be a plain paper book, or as sophisticated as a smartphone app that tracks history, rewards frequent shoppers and bike-friendly merchants, and allows transportation planners to look at real-world usage.

Is there an ongoing CaBi discount program at third-party stores? I’ve heard of a couple of one-day promotions where members received discounts by showing their CaBi key. There might be a discount on bike helmets too. Maybe CaBi can set up an expanded program on the Partners page on the website. Businesses can offer a discount to members in return for advertising space on the website/Partners page. Maybe the discounts would only be valid on certain days/times such as weekday mornings only, etc. Or limit the number of discounts per month.
Businesses near CaBi stations can choose to participate in the hopes of attracting CaBi users. While this probably wouldn’t bring in a lot of advertising revenue, it could be a way to bring in more members.

FYI–a few local bike shops already offer bike helmet discounts to C.B. members: http://www.capitalbikeshare.com/bike_rental_and_helmet_shops
As for a larger CB discount program, big things are in the works. Stay tuned!
