The route for Alexandria commuters coming across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to either locations in PG county or to locations in DC along the potomac relies on safe access up/down Harborview Blvd and National Blvd in National Harbor.
The construction of the MGM casino and the changes in the traffic flow may well mean it will be more difficult/dangerous for commuters that use this corridor.
related: it looks like the “traffic study” conducted occurred well after many commuters from/to Alexandria would have passed through that area for the day.
If you use the woodrow wilson bike trail and its connections in National Harbor as a part of your commute or recreation, I’d like to hear from you.
The last vote in PG county on the MGM development plan is next Monday at 10 AM and I’m working to get as much information fed to staff about those who are interested/impacted by changes to the system that connects Alexandria to PG county when traveling via bike.
