I saw hundreds and hundreds of adorable/cute/fancy bikes at this year’s Capital Pride Festival. One thing I didn’t see? A WABA Booth!

Maybe next year? The Pride Festival has always been great for organizations looking for new memberships.

This is a great idea. I will bring it up at the next FABB meeting as well.

In that case, shouldn’t there be a BikeArlington booth as well?

In what jurisdiction is the Capital Pride Festival located?

I was thinking of Bike DC, but then remembered that you all help sponsor that. Oh well.

We were definitely all over Bike DC, which is officially named “The Washington and Arlington Community Bike Ride.”

The group’s acronym will certain attract many pride-goers, too!

It’s not just for DC groups. There are quite a few Virginia organizations at the festival.

Tim, our church marched in the parade this year (Laurie and I with our bikes). It was a great time! I’ll ask around for info. Would be cool to to have a bike “float.”

Here are some of the Virginia groups from the listing of festival booths (http://www.capitalpride.org/festival-vendors):

    Arlington Gay and Lesbian Alliance
    Dulles Triangles
    Equality Virginia
    Fairfax LGBTQA Democrats
George Mason University Office of LGBTQ Resources
    LGBT Democrats of VA
    Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry
Women’s Care of Arlington, Dr. Will Burch

There are lots of Maryland organizations that also participated, so it’s not just a DC jurisdictional festival

We could wear our BikeArlington jerseys with Pride. ;-)
