Birders at Gravelly Point

There is a Snowy Owl at the north end of the DCA grounds that is attracting the attention of birders in the area. That type of owl doesn’t normally show up this far south so it is of some interest. I have seen birders at the portapotties so be careful.

Took these yesterday afternoon when I tried to find the owl.

It was interesting that the Park Police showed up and made a big deal about getting the cars off the grass parking area (ticketing a couple) but didn’t seem interested in taking a look at a truck and boat trailer in a wheelchair space without the appropriate license plates or hang tags.

Looks like a menacing bunch. I’ve heard stories about the fearsome nature of bird watchers.

Just kidding. I wish they would have scared off some of the seagulls at Hains Point the other day, so the *()$ birds wouldn’t poop on people.
