I haven’t been able to ride my non-commuter bike (Trek Ion CX with road tires when not doing CX) for about 2 weeks. I keep it on my balcony under a bike cover to protect it from the elements. Today after being out of town for three days and ready for a post work bike ride I head out to the balcony and to my surprise a bird has decided that my bike would make a perfect place for a nest and two little eggs:

Not wanting to wait 3-5 weeks to go for a ride I put on some gloves and carefully moved the nest into a box and placed in a chair near where my bike was. When I got back from my ride momma bird was back on her nest, so I assume all is well. My wife is letting me keep the bike inside so I don’t keep disturbing the bird. Hopefully all will work out.

Keep riding, otherwise the birds will invade.

Is this like the Osprey Bridge that Washcycle writes about?

Shhh! I don’t need the wife finding out that this is a trained bird and this nest thing is just a ploy to bring my bike inside…

Came home from work today and the bird wasn’t there. Hopefully she hasn’t abandoned the nest.
