Bike Arlington, the Arlington Women’s Club, Phoenix Bikes and Kidical Mass Arlington are hosting a bike rodeo on Saturday (4/29) and Kidical Mass will ride there!

The Rodeo will be at the Arlington Women’s Club: 700 S. Buchanan St from 10am-noon. Kids with bikes and helmets can participate in games to teach basic biking skills, bike maintenance check, and helmet safety check. There will be two practice courses for varying skill levels and balance bikes available for preschoolers (please bring a helmet). And Phoenix will be collecting bike donations – bring those bikes that are collecting dust and their youth mechanics will fix them up and get them to a new home! (flyer attached & facebook event)

If you’re new to family biking and want to see how other families tow the kids on their bikes, talk to other parents whose kids are on their own bikes, etc, come to the rodeo! The Kidical ride should arrive around 10:30am, and at least some of the families will stay through until noon.

The Kidical Mass ride will meet at Arlington Hall West at 9:30am ending at the Rodeo at 10:30am. The ride will be 2.5 miles, mostly flat, very slow, appropriate for kids on their own bikes, kids on parents’ bikes, anyone young at heart. All are welcome to join. Details:

All are welcome at the rodeo and on the ride. Please help spread the word (especially on S. Arlington/Alexandria listservs/Nextdoor).

Thanks for helping organize this event, it was good to have a helmet safety check done with my 21 month old, and have her try out a balance bike.
