Is there any good bike parking at the Convention Center? I’ll be there the next few days for a conference and was considering taking my own bike (I’ve used CaBi in the past to get to events there). RackSpotter only shows a few small racks scattered on the sidewalk, and I can’t find any information on the Convention Center website about secure bike parking.

It would be hit or miss. All buildings with parking garages are required to have bike parking on the first level, but it’s not required to be open to the public. Some will have two racks, one inside a cage and one not; others will just have controlled access cages.

I don’t think there’s a dedicated parking garage to the convention center, just corporate lots around the area. I’ve parked my (old commuter) bike on L St in the small rack (once) and it was OK and I see alot of bikes parked at the metro entrance at M St, but then again I wouldn’t trust leaving a good bike there.

A couple of years ago we got out seats stolen from the rack outside the Metro on 7th. I’d be very hesitant to leave anything locked up around there for very long.
