ParticipantRolling south on Crystal Drive this morning, two commercial vehicles were in the bike lane.
An Arlington Police officer rolled up as we watched during Coffee Club and we thought we were going to see enforcement.

Alas, any enforcement was not evident. 40 minutes later, the vehicles were still in the bike lane.
What’s up with that?

ParticipantPerhaps the officer was responding to reports of an errant electronic sign in the street?

ParticipantFrom Friday evening: 3 cars parked in the Crystal City Bike lane, directly next to the “don’t park in the bike lane” sign.

Honestly, unless they add barriers, those bike lanes are just uber/delivery drop off lanes. I wont ride in them.

They also need to widen the northbound bike lane north of 15th and around the bend onto 12th. It’s like only a foot wide!

ParticipantSign up for the beta How’s My Driving app to report violations like these. I’m convinced my efforts helped result in the new bike lane barriers in DC’s Banneker Circle.

I don’t think that is a bike lane. At least it is not marked as such.

ParticipantI don’t think that’s a bike lane either, but I still take it as a challenge to see if I can keep my wheels between the lines as I go around the curve.

That’s just a typical day in CC. I see it every day. Restaurant row at lunch time is bad, but it’s also bad on the south side where I work. I see cops drive by, and around, the violators all the time.

Some should put little bike lane stencils between the two lines.

I have been thinking about doing this for, like, two years–every single time I ride there.

It would be more in keeping with Crystal City’s previous infra design choices to make it a bus only lane.

ParticipantYesterday, there were two ACPD cruisers parked in the Quincy PBL near the auto shop just east of Glebe on the northbound side. There were no officers or activity to be seen. I doubt it was an emergency response situation as the cruisers were neatly tucked into the protected bike lane, making sure not to block the DRIVEWAY TO THE PARKING LOT OF THE AUTO SHOP. It didn’t look like they had driven over the flex posts, but instead had taken the time to back in.
And did I mention there was a parking lot they could have stopped in? If that didn’t work, there were legal parking spots on Quincy up the street, and plenty of room on 5th to park legally or not.

I hope you took photos and forwarded them to the appropriate folks.
