Gonna fly my WABA Flag with y’all on Thursday. Bike Kindly is an advocacy project with WABA that is sponsored by the wonderful people who bring us Kind Bars (Which, by the way, are AWESOME!!!). The idea is to promote good cycling behavior by having positive interactions with cyclists. It is so much nicer than getting called-out for not announcing a pass or blowing a stop sign. This totally fits in with the whole Be A PAL project that Bike Arlington is doing.
Where: Intersection of the Custis and W&OD Trails.
When: Thursday, October 10 from 4-6pm. If one or two people can show up a few minutes early, it would help.
What exactly are we doing? The message is “Thank you for stopping by!” People are given a great opportunity to actually stop at that stop sign. If they do so, they get a snack…. and some Bike Arlington Swag. We’re gonna make it really easy for people. We’ll have some folks along the trails with signs that say “Stop and get a prize!” If they want to stop, they get something. It is as simple as that. I’ll have the WABA Trailer with me. If you’re going to the BikeSwell Movie Premier, you’re more than welcome to roll with me to the event. We’ll start packing up and heading out a few minutes before 6pm.
This should be fun and really good outreach. Please come join me!
Thanks!
Pete
