ParticipantNot exactly the same area, but does anyone have insight into how street closures around the Lincoln Memorial tomorrow will affect us? https://inauguration.dc.gov/node/1210150
Typically I come over the 14th Street Bridge, then up Ohio to the RCP Trail. I’m trying to figure out if there will still be access to the trail that goes along Ohio or if the whole thing will be closed off. I’d rather just ride up to the Roosevelt or Key Bridge if it’s the latter.

So “street closure” does include the pedestrian path along the Potomac? That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out.
For the record, Park Police informed me over Twitter that there WILL be bike and pedestrian access on Memorial Bridge tomorrow.

My only data point is that all pedestrians and cyclists were being stopped from using the Rock Creek trail south of Virginia Ave (at Watergate) by police this morning. The PDF map doesn’t list this restriction, but the online interactive map does include it ( http://dcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/PublicInformation/index.html?appid=0471855f739d45e8afd9b3eab9573823 ). Presumably there’s a way to access the Memorial Bridge from city streets, but honestly I’m skeptical and not inclined to try.

ParticipantMemorial Bridge was blocked with snowplows and fencing this morning. NPS told me I could take either Roosevelt or 14th St so I went down the Trollheim. DC.gov map says it has since closed, will reopen at 7pm? Map also shows that the 14th street bridge is still open but that all the city streets leading to/from it closed in the wee hours? Glad I didn’t go that way.

ParticipantI went for a ride during lunch. I was able to ride down the closed section of Independence Ave and Constitution Ave west of 14th street with no problem until I hit the area west of the MLK memorial, there is a fence with a guard that would not let me pass. Was a nice ride, there were no cars allowed. Park ranger told me that today only, bikes were allowed on this section.
