this tunnel, or underpass, is adorned with artwork on both sides, a piece called, “Thoreau’s Ensemble“. There are a bunch of these tunnels in Reston in order to facilitate people moving between neighborhoods and not having to go on the road.

2/5/2024 – This tunnel just south of Brookland allows the Metro tracks to shift to the space in between the CSX tracks, allowing for the freight and MARC commuter trains to pass on the outside of the stations.

February 6 – Sign (w/pic of bike).  This means a sign that has a pic of a bike on it, not a picture that includes a random sign and also your bike.  However, the sign cannot be a bike route sign or a share the road sign, since those are separate items..

This bike sign is interesting, because although the building is a bicycle store, there is no entrance or advertising on this side.
