It’s particularly hairy right now, with the half-complete M St cycletrack painting, massive construction throughout the intersection, and GIANT potholes in the middle of the lanes as you try to navigate car traffic that is also trying to navigate through the construction.

After two trips through this week, I think I’ll feel most comfortable being a pedestrian until the construction and cycle track is completed.

I know the construction period of the cycletracks is always confusing, but it’s ironic that the safest, most functional part of M St right now is the unprotected block in front of the church.

Also: hi again! Apparently as a fair weather cyclist I’m also a fair weather forum user. Goal this year: do enough cycling in the fair weather that it becomes a year-round habit.

Between the frequent box blockers on 18th and the double parkers in front of the Camelot Gentlemen’s Club, this area is always bad. Throw in the construction and it’s a full-on sh*t show right now.

On a related note, my office is at this intersection and walking by the Camelot Club around lunch time is always a fun way to spot your favorite lobbyist.
