ParticipantEach year I have joined BAFS (4 times I think) I get ill the first days of January. This year it happened again, I think to keep me from having to worry about riding every day.

Awww hope you get well soon and jump in…there are a lot of rides and pointless prizes to compete for!

ParticipantThere’s a nasty cold going around this winter, that’s sure. Spanked me this last week.

ParticipantHow many years does it take to constitute a curse? I am trying to get through a January car-vs-bicycle “issue” — hmm, maybe I shouldn’t mention it until the month is over. On January 6, 2019, I was hit by a car as I was crossing Lee Highway eastbound on the W&OD. (Do you remember my black eye when I showed up for Happy Hour?) That statistic just served to reinforce the decision to replace that surface crossing with a bridge. On January 10, 2018, I was hit by a car in a crash that was partly my fault — attempting to cross in front of a line of cars stopped at a red light one block up. Never assume the drivers will see you. I guess that’s why one of the first questions the police officer at the scene asked me was, “Did you make eye contract with the driver?” !!! Seemed very weird (and impractical) at the time.

Oh geez, leslie. You never, ever mention a curse when you are in the midst of breaking it. You have 20 days left. You aren’t actually a Galitzianer, are you, or you would know this. Now I must say a dozen “keneineharas” for you.

Do any of us really know where our ancestors are from? I mean I know where I’ve been told they came to the US from, but before that….? Weren’t they all often moving around to avoid pogroms?
As for Leslie, maybe you want a li’l bubble wrap for January til you get through a couple without incident…. 🤔 🤦🏾
