Starting a new month….
The Rosslyn Monolith was counting today!
And a beaver paused and waited for me to pass on 4MRT before it crossed the trail (between 4MR and the pond (up on the other side of W&OD) near Glen Carlyn Park. Better behaved than the geese and many pedestrians.

This is a problem.
Since the spot was marked with paint, I must assume NOVA Parks know about this. What are their plans to repair?

April 9, 2021 at 11:04 am #1114122ursusParticipantDoes anyone have an update on the status of White’s Ferry? The latest that I read was that it was sold and the new owners wanted to reopen it.

The new owners of the ferry, and the owners of the farm where the landing is, have not yet reached a meeting of the minds.

Chuck Kuhn, the new owner of White’s Ferry, wants to either purchase the Virginia land site or negotiate a permanent easement with Rockland Farm. The owner’s of Rockland Farm are insisting on a $0.50 fee per car. Recent coverage said Chuck Kuhn is asking Virginia to pursue eminent domain.

Sorry about the dislike. My error, although I dislike the progress.

Getting a like and a dislike on the some comment is one of the joys of this board 😮

Last month, I logged a service ticket with ArCo about cars parked in the bike lane on South Eads. Seems people visiting the Arlington Transit yard were using an abandoned driveway apron at the treatment plant for parking. For reasons unclear, it didn’t get the flex post treatment the rest of the southbound bike lane received.
This morning on my way to HDCC, I noticed the area was sporting some new flex posts.
Thanks DES.

An opportunity lost! This now has new flex posts.

Indeed, flex posts aplenty! Thanks, Dana
April 18, 2021 at 7:14 pm #1114186StardusterParticipantGood afternoon. Two weeks ago, I rode the Mt. Vernon Trail boardwalk section between Daingerfield Island and the old power plant- first time in a couple of months. Part of the boardwalk had dips and twisting I did not remember before, wooden piers & all. Is that section at risk of settling & falling over into the marsh?
