Any updates on Bike DC 2011?

    Bike DC was scheduled for Sun. May 22, 2011. But then the National Park Service denied the permit to close down the GW Parkway. I haven’t heard about any updates since then. Will there be an alternate route? Will the event go on at all?

    There is no news on the Bike DC Facebook page. No posts from them in 2011. The Bike DC website only has a single page with the message that “Bike DC is alive and well.” Registration is supposed to open on March 22.

    I guess we’ll see if registration really does open on that date.

    I heard there was lots going on behind the scenes.

    Check the website now:

    “Bike DC is alive and well. Join us on Sunday morning, May 22nd for the great Washington/Arlington community ride.
    Registration begins here on Tuesday, March 22nd.”
