    The Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will be meeting tonight at 7 pm at the Bradlee Safeway Community Room, 3526 King Street, Alexandria.

    Christine Mayeur (Alexandria Complete Streets Coordinator) will provide a brief update on Complete Streets Projects and WABA’s new Advocacy Director, Robert Gardner is joining us for a discussion of WABA Advocacy priorities and strengthening our working relationship.

    11. Public Comments:
    Bike and Pedestrian Calendar – Please join us at one or more events!

    • June 12th, Tuesday, 6 AM to 7 PM – Primary Elections in Alexandria.
    • June 14th Thursday 3:15PM – Alexandria Families for Safe Streets (AFSS) event to highlight the pedestrian and cyclist safety.
    o According to the Alexandria Police Department, the months of June and November are the highest incidents of pedestrian and bicyclist crashes.
    o Several AFSS crash survivors and family members who lost loved ones to a car crashing into them when walking in cross walks will tell their stories of the consequences of drivers
    violating traffic laws.
    o Location: Francis C. Hammond Middle School (Seminary Road & Library Lane)
    • June 16th , Saturday, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m – Friends, supporters, and stakeholders of the MVT will meet on Saturday, June 16 at Indigo Landing on Daingerfield Island.
    • June 21, Thursday, 6 to 7:30 pm – Bike Rodeo at the Charles Barrett Elementary School teacher parking lot, hosted by the CBES PTA.
    • July 9th Monday, 7 pm – BPAC monthly meeting in the Bradlee Safeway Community Room
