    Please join us for the next Alexandria BPAC meeting at the Oswald Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street from 7 to 9 pm. We will be joined by guest speakers Rachel Maisler ,Chair, District of Columbia Bicycle Advisory Council, and Gillian Burgess, Chair, Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee, for introductions to their organizations and current biking issues and priorities in DC and Arlington. WeÂ’ll also plan to outline initial ideas for a Regional Bike summit in June.

    Agenda – Monday, April 8 7 to 9 pm at the Oswald Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA 22314

    1. Introductions and Welcome – Jim Durham, Chair
    2. Alexandria Police Liaison Discussions – Lieutenant Mike May

    • Updates on recent crashes involving people walking and biking
    • Alexandria Police Traffic Safety initiatives

    3. Guest Speakers:

    • Rachel Maisler ,Chair, District of Columbia Bicycle Advisory Council, and Gillian Burgess, Chair, Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee, with introductions to their Organizations, operations and current issues and priorities
    • Discussion of potential June 9th Regional Bike Summit topics
    o “Trails and Wayfinding” (Gillian). Standards to eliminate differences across the region and standardize key features such as emergency reporting, and wayfinding.
    o “Connected Networks” (Rachel). Prioritized infrastructure changes and associated actions for the top cross-jurisdictional gap-filling projects
    o “Safe Streets Tool Kit”. (Jim) Tool Kit of “Best practices” for safe street, i.e. “What will help me get home or to work safely”

    4. City of Alexandria Vision Zero and Complete Streets Program
