ParticipantThere are all kinds in this world.
I am in and it seems my sore back signed up too. It plans to follow right behind me for the whole ride demuring its time in the wind.

That was hilarious. I love that he drafted you for the last 4 miles and then sprints to “win” [the non-competitive charity ride]

ParticipantI’m doing the Mexicali Blues Breakfast race at about 9 am ish on Saturday. It’s a challenge to have a good breakfast while watching all those young’uns sweat.

I think the retribution was something along the lines of his local Strava KOMs being taken away.

ParticipantI’ll be doing the Challenge Ride for the first time (also first time doing any sort of timed event other than the “if you take a full day to do 50 miles we’re all going home without you” group rides). My goal is to get a silver medal (4 laps but I will try for 5), but who knows what will happen after reading that story

Wait, I thought that was the other article from today about riding to work every day for a whole week yet still looking fresh like a fashionista (or in my case, fashionisto?). Oh well, I’ll still draft off him and hope that my make-up (sunscreen) and hair (buzz-cut) still look good after the ride

ParticipantI’m riding but I’m not sure if I’ll go for 6 laps. I made it to 6 two years ago, but didn’t ride at all last year.
I’ll use my tri bike again, but now that recall has gotten into my head. (The bike model was recalled because of some incidents of front fork failures.) I haven’t had a chance to get it looked at. Then again, I’ve used the bike, and fork, for several races and many long training rides over the past 5 years without any problems.
If there’s an equipment problem between now and Sunday, then I’ll just ride the mountain bike and recognize that I’ll ride pretty slowly. In that case, I might bail out after 120 minutes or the next lap.
I haven’t done that many long rides this spring either. Though I rode at least a few miles every day in May for the National Bike Challenge, I only just started doing longer rides again a few weeks ago. I barely rode at all in March after I got sick.
