Here is a photo of an aging bridge over the Boundary Channel. That nail head protruding from a rotting wood might be a cause for a flat tire.

*I am posting as a sponsor playing along. I am not a player. :)

Nice ones! Would appreciate if people didn’t spell out the daily Wordle solution in their Strava post. It’s too easy to accidentally see the word before solving the puzzle. I don’t mind having the word on the forum, tho. Thanks.

That’s a good point. Hey players, there is no need to put the actual Wordle solution in your Strava post — we only need #scavhunt for scoring. We very specifically planned to post the solution ONLY in the forum for that reason.

Noted. I edited my Strava post.

Good one. I looked for antique cars today and did not find any.

Apart from his whitened hair, this Santa is showing relatively few signs of aging, despite his 1,700+ years in existence. The elephant shows some signs of wrinkling (though humans typically determine elephant age by teeth).

The National Institute on Aging actually funds elephant research. Elephants and humans have similar lifespans, despite elephants’ lack of modern medical and dental care as well as sanitation systems, at least as we know them. Elephants also differ from humans in that they have about 20 copies of a gene called TP53 while we and most other mammals just have one. This gene helps detect DNA damage and elephants’ abundance of the gene is thought to protect them against developing cancer. Steve, I love your smile. But I see your smile and face as objects brought from home. I am dead serious, no matter how much it might sound funny. Please, delete the hashtag from your Strava post or submit another photo.

Here is rule 14 of this prize – Let’s stick to things you find out there during your ride, not things you bring or make yourself (unless otherwise specified). Example 1: Don’t build a pile of dirt, snow, or rocks if the Wordle clue is “MOUND”; Example 2: if the Wordle clue is “FRUIT” don’t bring a piece of fruit with you on your ride, and take a photo of that. This takes the fun out of looking for things, which is the whole point.

And 40 is so young for this group!

Thank you, consularrider, for respecting rule 14. And selfies are fine according to rule 10.

Rule 10: It has to be a picture you took. You don’t need to be in the photo, but if you are in it, it either has to be a selfie or done with a self-timer.

However, you cannot be a word/topic/object of the day. If it is a selfie, let it be, for example, a selfie with an aging object in the background. That object, whatever it is according to your creativity and imagination, must be found on the ride. Have “the fun out of looking for things, which is the whole point” as rumipumi and Mtansill said.

Laurie, thank you for your submission. Can you edit your post and delete one of the photos because only one photo is allowed?

Rule 11: Only one picture per day should be posted in the Forum. More than one, no matter how cute or engaging, will disqualify the player for that day. One photo means one photo – not two squished into one or any permutation thereof.
