Native Americans used arrowheads during the Stone Age to hunt and protect themselves

(Found this replica in a controversial themed playground.)

Unfortunately, my dog’s dental health was so neglected before I got her that she’s had to leave the relics of many of her teeth here.

    Neely looks sad. 🙁

My bicycle is a relic from the 1970s bike boom.

Argh! I want to give a point for this oldie but goldie bike, but it counts as an object brought from home. 🙁

    1/24/24 – RELIC

I found multiple relics today!  Today was my first time inside handy bikes & the guy told me this tandem from the 1960s was the best relic in the store

I also saw 3 vw bugs with antique plates within a mile of handy bikes! (pix on Strava.)

1/24/24 – This metal barrier in Brentwood is a relic of segregation. Here’s an interesting article on its history and plans for an educational display: https://www.hyattsvillewire.com/2020/02/28/north-brentwood-windom-road-barrier/

She’s mostly just sad about having to travel by something other than foot.  (Bicycle trailer on the way there, Uber on the way back, neither of which she likes.)  She was sedated for the actual dental work.  And unlike last year, when 20 of her teeth had to be extracted, she didn’t end up with any extractions this year.

@camiller — awesome find! For some reason, I don’t think this was in Reston. They don’t let us put practically anything in our front yards!

It is a lovely old beast though!

    1/24/2024 – Relic

Wow, what luck!  This relic was still there.  I made sure I used a different angle so you don’t think it was the same as yesterday.

“At the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, pilgrims may venerate a first-class relic of St. John Paul II’s blood that is contained in a glass ampoule at the center of an ornate reliquary.”

1/24/2024 – In addition to often having special celebrations to venerate a particular relic, the gift shop at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception even sells prayer cards with third-class relics (e.g., a small piece of cloth that had touched a first-class relic and therefore is a third-class relic per canon law).

1/24/24 – this RELIC is not very old but shouldn’t be here since the day already passed
