Jayson O’Mahoney, the captain of the winning team contacted my with a suggestion we meet up for a photo of the captains first and second placed teams when he was in the area the week after the challenge. We weren’t able to connect that week but he mentioned he would be in town the following week to meet up with LAB for lunch and an award presentation and maybe we could meet up then.
I have a small quibble. While BA All Stars finished in second place overall, there were three first place teams (one for each team size category). That should be recognized by the competition organizers.

ParticipantTim, yes I think you posted a screen shot of the facebook post, but when I tried to find it on facebook, I couldn’t find it on the NBC facebook page. I didn’t think to look on the BikeArlington page. :p I guess you know these people and they would have sent the award to BA directly but I didn’t think of that. I was sort of in the dark, I thought I would receive an email or something. So I messaged the NBC FB page asking if they needed an address to send the award. They said yes, so I gave them my address.
Dana, you are quoting me calling GCC “the winning team”. So maybe your quibble is with me, not NBC! Rest assured, I think we won too! I’m sure NBC acknowledges our win and will send us the award, but in my opinion, NBC hasn’t recognized ANY of the winners. Maybe there is a place where the winning individuals, teams, communities, workplace, and state are listed, but I don’t know where that is.
It doesn’t matter. We kicked butt. I think we’ll get a plaque. Maybe we can have a party to celebrate. At the very least I can bring the award to a BA happy hour to show it off. If Tim or someone from BA were to show up I could hand it over then. Otherwise, I’ll deliver it myself or have it sent.
I know we were “mostly” just doing what we do, but I suspect almost all of us put in some extra miles for this challenge. Kudos to those who always ride a lot, thanks to those who rode the extra miles and thanks everyone for riding!

ParticipantHmm, yes, maybe. With 70 members, we’ll have another before this one has made it’s rounds.

I sent LAB another message yesterday inquiring how the awards were coming along and I recieved this today.
[/URL]Not exactly what I was expecting. Nicer really, but it needs a frame. Congrats team!
Wonder if we could commission the fine artists at Phoneix Bikes for a suitable frame.

We’ve got a special place in the BA offices if you need an official location for it to have a “home.”
