ParticipantPretty certain this morning’s ride cemented my perfect attendance for the entire challenge period, which for me included two trips to Canada, a trip to Boston, and a series of hospital visits. Now the question is: Do I keep the streak alive for the rest of the year?

You have to slow down for October and November so you can properly sandbag Freezing Saddles.

ParticipantFreezing saddles should use Sept as the benchmark month this year.

Now we just have to figure out how to host it. We can’t use Strava (directly) this year.

Returning and should-be-returning (looking at you, Dickie) Freezing Saddles participants should have to use their previous FS totals as their benchmark.

ParticipantDoes ridewithgps have a decent API?
I think Endomondo *shudder* lets you create your own challenges, but I don’t know if they let you do anything beyond just miles and other basic data.

Twice today I saw the All-Star who has yet to log a mile, riding his bike. I wanted to shout “Log you miles by midnight!” but I just waved.

Yeah, that is a good idea. For those that aren’t returning maybe an average of the summer months. No one rides less in freezing saddles. Well, no one should be riding any less, anyway
But I don’t really care since I don’t plan to return this year. I have more family responsibilities this year and don’t want the small-team-driven pressure to get out and ride when I should be doing more important things. I will ride through the winter, of course. Maybe I’ll be back for 2014-2015; it’s always a blast rolling out at 3am to log 100 miles before work at 9! I can’t believe I didn’t get sick last year.

ParticipantI think Endomondo screwed up my NBC points last night and didn’t account for the 16.6 commuting miles I did. I should be at 4501, unless the count ended at noon instead of midnight. Does anyone know what time the count was supposed to end?
(It took the commute in initially, but when i couldn’t get the 2nd commute to take, I tried to delete and re-enter both commutes to fix it. Instead of fixing it, it then wouldn’t account for either of yesterday’s commutes, leaving me with lower points at 7 p.m. than I had at noon. Oh, well.)

ParticipantI guess the site got overwhelmed by a lot of final uploads. I expect they’ll get it straightened out. I left work early to go for a bike ride. It was kind of hard after over 350 miles this weekend. The miles from my last ride appear in my stats but the points haven’t been added yet. Currently, the national and local leaderboards are closed for repair.
I think it’s safe to assume we won the mid-size team category! Congratulations Team! The fact that we bettered all but one of the big teams is phenomenal!

ParticipantWe had an awesome team leader. Thanks so much, Rod, for creating the team, communicating info, sharing photos of beautiful places, and most of all, inspiring us to ride more by example!
And Dana, many thanks to you too for all the stats!

ParticipantThanks Rod for organizing our team and keeping us motivated throughout the summer, and also for your absurd mileage. Also thanks to Dana for being a huge spreadsheet nerd and providing the stats! Well done to the whole team!

Can we stop logging miles on endomondo now?October 1, 2013 at 2:00 pm #982567americancyclo
ParticipantI would like to take this opportunity to thank tapirik.com for making it possible for me to completely avoid endomondo for this whole challenge. Yay!
