ParticipantWith my last ride, I crested 750 points, optimizing my chances at a years supply of toilet paper. I don’t think I’m hitting the 5k point level.

ParticipantThe points needed to reach the bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels have been raised this year. Last year many riders reached the highest level, the 1500 pt platinum level, each month. Approaching the end of the first month, only two riders have reached the new improved 2500 pt. platinum level. The 5000 pt. diamond milestone is new.

Gold standard in a month’s time is not bad! Is Tim signed up? He puts in some miles!

ParticipantAt Rod’s urging I just signed up for the National Bike Challenge and the Bike Arlington All Stars. Used the https://tapiriik.com/ to link my Strava account and Endomondo. Hopefully it works!

Yes, I’m signed up. Currently in the top 10 on the team. Miles this year will be lower than normal since I’ll be doing more mountain biking this year.

ParticipantWow, we gained 4000 points today! A big chunk of that from kayakcyndi who really required very little urging to join. Some other new members were wheedled a bit more. Thanks all for joining. I think some of the rest of the big points today are from people updating their accounts. So we have a little breathing room but I’m still worried about Colorado Springs who were closing the gap. They have 94 members currently signed up. We have 54 members. We ride twice as much as them though and if they add many more riders, they’ll be in a different category. So we may still be a good bet to win “medium sized team”.
I would like more to join our team. Please join. It’s fun and easy! Invite your friends!

Don’t think your membership has gone unnoticed or unappreciated! If we win a plaque, I hope it will hang it in your office. I was talking about the Tim that Ron Alford is always drafting behind, a sort of human windscreen that Ron used to good advantage on the climb up Sugarloaf Mountain yesterday.
http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?4659-Post-your-ride-pics&p=53234#post53234A to Z. Welcome newest team members Adam Bibler and Zanna Warzella! Currently first and last alphabetically, and I think everyone who works for Bike Arlington has joined their org’s namesake team.

ParticipantWith the approaching end of the month, please encourage your teammates to get their miles logged.
I will do a mini-rollup of the top 10 teams nationally about once a week. If there is a statistic that excites you, please let me know.

I like the points per member stat with the huge variation in team sizes this year.

ParticipantHere is a roll up from a few minutes ago. To keep it straight, the teams are alphabetical. For some of the elements, the top three are highlighted. Note that the strength in the Bike Arlington All Stars is that the team is quite consistent. We are kicking butt in the points per member. As the summer winds on, that consistency will be critical.

ParticipantFor the new riders on the team. You should be able to go back to 1 May and log your miles and rides. You should be able to do this until the end of the month.
It would be a shame to miss those rides and miles.

ParticipantThe Team Activity page seems to be limited to the first 50 members (alpha sort). I pinged Endomondo but it is not clear what that will accomplish.

ParticipantWell, technically the DC area-teams are actually winning if we add in the elevation variance. (Well maybe the SF or Colorado folks get an edge too).

ParticipantCan we do a challenge where all distance over a 3% grade counts double, everything over 5% triple, etc.?
