I won’t speak for Rod, but “Duh”… get your arse on the team!

ParticipantI joined the Fairfax one as they messaged me in-site. I keep forgetting to turn off Endomondo so it shows funny times like 1:30 for 14.75 miles. I realize it when I get back from shower/breakfast and sit down at the office and it says “Autoplay paused” or whatever that phrase is. What I need to do is just make sure to record a mile on Saturdays and Sundays. Otherwise I clock around 150 a week. I have a bronze and silver so far, but I fear the gold may be too elusive.

ParticipantIt would seem that the sweet spot for the team would be just under 100 members. We are kicking butt now with about 45.

Insane. The orthopedist can’t seem to make his mind up. I ended up with no cast, just an air splint and crutches. When I saw him last Thursday he decided maybe it was a “high ankle spain,” and fully cleared me to begin stationary cycling, which is actually part of my physical therapy. He was cautious about clearing me for riding outdoors, he had no problem cycling, just concerns about the falling and reinjuring. And yes, I am nuts. :p

Just behind you guys (ok, by ~1,600ish pts at 4,600) is us Fairfax folks. But our team is like 20 people so not too shabby.

That’s like halfway across the country!

Yes please! One of the several misconceptions that seem to be discouraging people from joining is the idea that a team member will somehow hurt the team if they don’t ride a lot. Nothing can be farther from the truth! There is no limit on team size, every rider who logs miles contributes and every mile counts. Every day you ride you score 20 points plus one point for each mile.
You ride a lot (100 miles/week) and 8 to 12 rides/week sounds like pretty much every day. Obviously we want you to join, but people who ride fewer miles than you and/or less often are welcome too.

I would expect you will make most of us slackers in fairly short order.

Now that Gainesville has become a large team (100+), we’re back in first place in the mid-sized category! I guess our best chance at winning is to remain less than 100 members, and at our current rate of growth I suspect we will stay under that number.
I’d like to see BA win the overall but the way Gainesville is riding, it seems unlikely… If we somehow get over a hundred riders on our team, maybe… I’m not afraid to compete with the big teams.

ParticipantI want to support BA, but if that’s the Gainesville Cycling Club I’m thinking of, go Gators!!
You all are doing very well too.

Yeah but they may slow down once the 100+ heat and humidity hits them.
Too bad the competition didn’t award extra points for elevation gains; let’s face it FL is flat, flat, flat.

ParticipantOK will join in. Checked my Strava stats 146 miles / 9 rides per week for the year to date. Dumb question number one. Can you load in via a garmin or is it by hand? If by hand can you go a few days and then do it all at once? If so I can just work off a Strava page to get the ride #s and distances.
