    Hi Everyone, get excited–this is the one you’ve been waiting for!

    We’ve got lots of blinky lights, reflective pant straps and reflective safety vests to give out to the ninjas that may be caught out after dark after the Daylight Saving Time change this coming weekend and we need your help in passing them out!

    For those who helped out last year, we’re going to be following the same basic routine as last year. We’re planning on setting up trail side and nicely accosting anyone who comes by with free gear to get them seen!

    Volunteers will be needed to help flag down riders and runners, install lights, and answer any questions. It’s a fun time (Pete makes it especially fun) and you get to meet lots of other forum regulars! We’ll even set you up with some extra lights and straps to take a long with you to pass out in travels.     So, here are the dates and times that we are looking to do it:

    Monday, November 5th – Custis/Lynn St/Lee Highway/Mount Vernon Trail (4:30pm – 6:30 pm)

    Thursday, November 8th – Intersection of Custis Trail and W&OD Trail, Mile Marker 4 (4:30pm – 6:30 pm)

    Thursday, November 15th – Intersection of W&OD Trail and Columbia Pike, Mile 1.5 (4:30pm – 6:30 pm)
    (Anyone who can speak Spanish is encouraged to attend this one!)

    I could come for awhile to Monday’s, but I would have to leave by 5:30.

    I can do the 5th and the 15th. Will need to leave on the 5th in time to make the ABAC meeting.

    Psuedo-threadjacking here: Everyone handing out lights on the 5th should then roll on up to the ABAC meeting. Court House Plaza (2100 Clarendon Blvd) in the main lobby meeting room from 7-9pm. All are welcome and even your bikes can hang out inside. This month we’re having a little different of a meeting by opening the floor to thoughts, ideas and brainstorming potential focus of ABAC priorities for the next 18 months. We’d love to see new faces around the table! Although not a traditional happy hour…we are happy people!

    Excellent–thanks! I think you’ll be in similar company on the 5th with a couple people heading to the BAC meeting with you.

    Excellente! We’ve also found that “luces gratis” works pretty well too.

    I can do any night. Monday is slightly better – but it doesnt really matter (no skul the next day). I can do the full time.

    I’ll show up on Monday the 5th and Thursday the 8th, but will have to pass on Thursday the 15th. Hablo espanol (la mayoria del tiempo), pero el quince, tengo que usar el idioma en un lugar lejos y al sur.
