ParticipantWe hope you all can make it, we will also be at the movie. BikeArlington will be tabling, passing out our usual literature…AND we’ll be hosting a FREE raffle with some fun prizes we don’t give out on a normal basis.
See you all there!! 😎

ParticipantI knew there was a thread about stereo systems on bikes….this “feats per minute” bike may be the solution! This way, not only can you be in tune to your surroundings, but your surroundings can be in tune to your tunes 😮

ParticipantDue to the success of our last 2 lights for bikes giveaways (despite the rain on the last one, we still gave away a good number of lights to people in need), we will be providing yet another opportunity to light up Arlington county!
We’ll be at the W&OD and Custis Trail near Bon Air Park, same time (4:30/4:45 – 6:30), on Monday December 12th…and we’ll be hoping for some good weather.
Once again, we couldn’t do it without our volunteers, so if anyone is available it would be great to have you helping out!
Thanks!!!

ParticipantJust a reminder that we’re all on the same side here. It’s Thanksgiving tomorrow, let’s take ann’s cue and be thankful for the forum :o)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

ParticipantYou GUYS! You don’t need to thank us! We are SO thankful to have so many dedicated volunteers who are not only willing to stand in the cold rain for 2 hours, but who are also committed to keeping the Arlington community safe.
You guys said it all – despite the weather, it was a successful night and not only are more runners, walkers, families and bikers visible at night, one tiny little Chihuahua will be shining his heart out!
Thanks again for everyone’s help! We couldn’t have done it without you!!!!

That’s the spirit! Thanks for letting us know, we should have plenty of volunteers.

ParticipantJust a reminder that tonight is our Lights for Bikes Giveaway! We’ll be at the W&OD/Columbia Pike crossing between 5pm and 630pm. We’ll be setting up around 445.
Thanks again to those of you who have agreed to help out! Let’s hope it doesn’t rain!
See you out there :o)

Participantand by “providing the bungee cords” I meant, providing the elbow grease to physically wrap the bungee cords around the table and onto Tim’s back.

I would be *very* willing to lend as many bungee cords as necessary to secure the table to Tim’s back.
So does this mean we can count you in?
(will you be providing the bungee cords for strapping the table to Tim’s back??)

Last night on the MVT I saw a woman pushing a jogging stroller that appeared to have some of Bike Arlington’s frog lights attached to the handlebars. Yeah!
That’s probably because we pushed our lights on pretty much everyone who crossed our path….we suited up a few jogging strollers actually. Glad to hear they’re getting some good use!!

A glass filled with beer is joyous any time of year
I’m there.

ParticipantThanks to everyone who helped out at our Lights for Bikes Giveaway, to those who stopped by to say hi, and to everyone else who makes sure that they’re visible at night!! We had a successful night…we gave away around 1,000 lights!! We had a lot of fun, and I especially liked the creative ways you guys came up with to wear the lights (i.e. on the shoes for joggers and also on the helmet).
We’ll be doing another giveaway next Monday, the 21st at the W&OD and 4 Mile Run trail intersection at Columbia Pike. We don’t expect as many people as we saw last week, but help is greatly appreciated. We’ll be setting up at around 4:30 and closing up shop around 6:30. So if anyone can lend a hand that would be great!
Also, Dirt we may need some assistance in hauling a folding table…we all know your cargo bike can work some wonders, would you be able to help us out with this?
Thanks!!!

ParticipantI just wish I had a longer commute. 2.5 miles is far too short.
