ParticipantHowdy everyone. Glad to be part of the “freezing dozen” I’m Todd Thompson. This is my second year of BAFS. I was on the Titanium Geraniums (team 22) last year. I commute from Vienna to Ballston 3 or 4 times a week but will try to get out every day even if not commuting. I should be good for my 100 mile team max every week. I spend too much time riding the WOD but it’s hard to beat the convenience and safety of it. I would definitely like to connect with some of you for group rides. Very impressed by some of your stats – especially Chris’ 1700 day streak. Wow!

ParticipantHowdy team 22,
I’m looking forward to extra motivation of being on a team to get me riding outside on the cold days this winter. Spent way too much time on trainer using Zwift last winter. A few things about me:
– First year doing Freezing Saddles
– Live in Vienna with wife, 3 kids and 3 dogs and work in IT at association in Arlington.
– I’ve been bike commuting into Ballston 3 or 4 days a week for last 14 years.
– Usually ride fixie when commuting but switch to XC or single-speed MTB for bad-weather winter riding and a road bike for longer weekend rides
– Do most rides solo and way too many miles on W&OD. I would be eager to connect with other Team 22 members for some group rides
– When not riding, my other hobbie/sport is ice hockey. I’m coach for Madison HS team.
– Always eager for tips on cycling gear. Especially interested right now in cold-weather foot gear. Have not come up with anything yet that will keep feet warm > 1 hr in single digit temps.I just joined the Team22 strava group so will hopefully show up on that shortly. Look forward to meeting all of you and encouraging each other on strava.
Go Team 22!
-Todd

ParticipantJust joined forum and am looking forward to participating in Freezing Saddles based on suggestion from Susan Stillman this morning. It is supposed to be snowy winter so should make riding most days of the week an interesting/fun challenge. During winter, besides commuting, I spend way too much time on my trainer with Zwift. Freezing Saddles should force me out into the weather more often instead. Thanks!
