Per a recent email from the CCBID:
BIKE TO WORK WEEK
WHEN: May 15th through May 19th 2017
7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
WHERE: The Fountain (aka the Crystal City Water Park) across from 1750 Crystal Drive
WHAT: Challenge yourself to a week of bicycle commuting during Crystal City’s Bike to Work Week. Visit the Pit Stop near the Mount Vernon Trail Connector and enjoy breakfast, conversation, and prizes.
The top 125 most frequent riders will earn a coveted custom Crystal City cycling jersey.*This is concurrent to and ends with the DC area’s official Bike To Work Day, but has its own separate sign-up*
Ahh so that’s how it works! So go every day? Do they have *coffee*??!!

ParticipantI will be there with a car and some goodies and support …recovering from the VASA ride and maybe doing one lap! Oh and jousting. I’ll bring a first aid kit, a flag to wave and some chain mail. Probably won’t stay too late.

Do you mean by the Memorial Bridge?
I ask because I want to go from Rosslyn to Wed. night spins tonight. I plan to take the 110 trail to ANC, avoiding the Trollheim section. Then I can either take the MVT to LBJ Grove to Boundary Channel (last section shoveled by the Trio of Incredibleness) or schlep the Wash Blvd. trail to Boundary Channel.
Suggestions, anyone?“Trio of incredibleness” made me laugh out loud. Their efforts sure are incredible!

ParticipantAll this talk = why I’m hesitant to get a Garmin/equivalent device. It’s hard enough to remember to a) charge phone; b) turn on Strava c) turn off strava if I take metro or walk….. adding another device overwhelms my already overworked brain!

ParticipantMy two cents: parks are for everyone. Esp. National parks. There’s an interesting Facebook thread about this. I like this comment which i found there:
I’ve spent quite a lot of time in the park, and I think it’s fantastic that you’re (that we are since it’s OUR park. Think about it, man!) giving the following people the opportunity to have a worry free and quiet day to explore the beauty and serenity of the drive from the double yellow line all the way over to the solid white line. I certainly support this and bow out gracefully for a day, especially to the cyclists who dare to try an out and back in the allotted time:
bicyclists, unicyclists, tricyclists, tandem cyclists, recumbent cyclists, skateboarders, pogo stickers, jumping stilters, roller skaters, heelys riders, big wheel riders, scooters, etc, etc…
