Hi Ken and all Misfits,
I’m Alison (aka SpaceRider). I’m a solo new rider. I’ve been riding a tandem with my husband and fellow Misfit Toy member Tom (aka TLM) for a couple years. I bought an All City Space Horse from Conte’s Black Friday weekend. I love it but am still getting use to solo riding. Shifting and getting on and off are new skills in progress, but am enjoying the process and the community. I try to go on the Conte’s Alexandria ride every Saturday and am up for other fun rides — especially ones that involve a food or beverage destination. Looking forward to meeting the other Misfits.

Lovely tandem ride on th W&OD. Stopped at Caboose and had a couple tasty beverages to go with my brussle sprouts. Tried Swartzbier, a black Lager I’ve not seen on the menus before, and Dutchess Porter, a coffee porter that’s been my fav for a while. Both good, but still prefer Dutchess. 😊👍🍺

I typically don’t make NY resolutions, but this year I did, and they are all bike related. In 2019 I am going to:
• Ride 5,000 miles. (I ride ~2,500 stoking a tandem with my husband. Just bought a single bike, All City Space Horse, and am learning to ride that to make up the difference)
• Meet more cyclist and join some group rides. (Doing Alexandria Conte’s Saturday morning ride and love it. Looking for another regular ride, preferable mid-week.)
• Join the Freezing Saddles fun (On the wait-list, so fingers crossed…)
• Increase my cycling confidence and skills. (Working on that, and all of the above will help)
• Learn basic maintenance and repair so I can be a self sufficient cyclist. (Conte’s classes will help there)
• Do a multi-day bike tour somewhere.
