I had a pair last year and they were awesome! I have pretty bad raynaud’s, so they (combined with my barmitts) kept my fingers toasty warm all winter long! They were a pretty inexpensive pair that were given to me as a gift, and had zero wind or rain protection, and the pleather peeled by the end of the season, but combined with the barmitts worked perfectly. Unfortunately, one of the gloves won’t charge this year. This year I’ll be investigating a more sustainable pair, that hopefully, will last at least a few seasons (both the electronics and the body of the gloves!). I wasn’t as successful with socks – I bought a few pairs, but none worked. I have a couple pairs that I’ll be testing out this year. Fingers crossed at least one pair will work!

Well, I bought a bike that could work.
Then I got a job, so I have the money.
Then I checked my daughter’s spring break schedule, and she reminded me she’s going to the Dominican.

So I have run out of excuses.

Do it!!!

Santa delivered new rain gear to me a little early (he didn’t want me to have to drag it home across the Atlantic – so thoughtful of him!)

I’m guessing that must be part of all the work going on there?

Loving all the photos!!!! Especially since I didn’t get to see any of the checkpoints! Here’s a few from the start/finish & Qiincy Park (food pick-up/fire extinguishers).

Great job everyone! So excited to see so many people out there! 213961237c52789e3da64704bd238ec9.jpgffa80ad086fae10d82ea65fef1843146.jpg8eca13926e080970499429dd99d73a35.jpg317a5e91524414074654fec8ea35d49e.jpg

In disaster situations it is often unsafe to drink the water. This bonus task will help prepare you for situations where beer is the only uncontaminated water source available.

Officially I don’t think I can condone such alcoholic tendencies, but that sounds like a pretty good deal to me… ;)

Hi All – we’re seeking one more bike club/team to captain the water crossing checkpoint. If you know of any who may be interested, please contact me! (and if you haven’t registered – what’s stopping you [emoji5])
