Looks like some tweets were able to get detour signs put up.

ParticipantSpeaking of vision zero, that is what car drivers have right now of cyclists and pedestrians waiting to cross Lynn Street northward at the IOD due to the new huge “sidewalk closed” sign. Not seeing anyone, they are even more willing to ignore the no right turn sign during the leading crossing interval. I will “strive” to not get injured or killed.

I mentioned that a lot of their language was vague to the point of uselessness. That and enforcement of traffic laws; I always mention enforcement since it seems we’ve largely given up on that.
Oh, and my latest pet peeve of putting orange flags up so pedestrians can beg to cross without being killed at a crosswalk. People are dying, and instead of putting in effing 4-way stops or enforcing the law, their solution is to have people wave orange flags.
My understanding is that the orange flags is actually a private citizen’s (IMHO misguided) effort.

Sorry, doesn’t count because my understanding is that the beer is not brewed at that location.

It looks like the organizers of this event are meeting at Lazy Mikes at 9:30-9:45, so why did you put 9:00 on the calendar?

ParticipantThat seems about right, particularly about enforcement. I would’ve added the failure of Arlington DES to give the maintenance of bicycle-related facilities much priority or to require safe accommodations during road construction. Arlington continues to do a good job talking the talk, but not walking the walk.

Was this on the Custis, perhaps near Lee Hwy? Could be the same guy who said almost exactly the same thing as he ran me off the trail a few years back; we very nearly came to blows as he followed me into the verge yelling aggressively. (I picked up my steel bike and shoved it toward his face and he backed off.) Funny thing is, my helmet light had not been in his eyes until he ran me off the trail and came after me since I turn it away from people when riding.
If the same guy, that dude is bad news and a problem waiting to happen–surprised it hasn’t already.
No, it was a woman on the W&OD near Bluemont. Since then, I’ve developed a number of witty yet calm responses.

They only make sours on-site here. I had the Cuvee. It was not nearly as sour as the wife insists it was.

I washed it down with a Heart and Soul IPA, not brewed on site, I’m kind of tired of hazy, juicy IPAs. It was a nice fad for a month or two but it’s time to move on.

You should listen episode 122 of this podcast about hazy IPAs: http://brulosophy.com/podcasts/thebrulosophypodcast/.

ParticipantHad a runner this morning purposely shine their light into my eyes and yell out “How does that feel?!” I yelled back “Great!”.

That combined with the whole “authorizing the website to get your data from Strava” should be enough; scanning the list it looks like there are people not on a team who are showing up there. You can always re-authorize at http://freezingsaddles.com/authorize (the online equivalent of unplugging and replugging in your modem)
I don’t know, not seeing anyone on the text individual leader board who is not on a team, including myself. Friends of BAFS shall not be ignored!

Jan 6 at Heritage Brewing in Arlington. I had one of their flagship beers, Live Free or Die, a west coast style IPA. Easy drinking, pleasant citrus and piney notes.
Did you make sure that they brewed it there, rather than at their main brewing facility?
