This Arduino Project looks really cool and well put-together:
With about $150 in materials, the Pimp-My-Bike course should provide you with:
-turning indicators & strobe night light
-speedometer / odometer
-brake lights
-battery packhttp://jdeboi.com/portfolio/electronics/bike/overview.php

Not terribly cheap, but then again, not that much more than a new Light and Motion Vis 360+…

The lesson here, kids, is don’t buy cheap chain tools and leave them in your seat bag.

Do you really need 7 gears on the back? Wouldn’t a fixie, or SS with coaster brake be a better option.
Depends on the yard. I have pretty good slopes in some sections.

Saddle to handlebar drop ratio also decidedly non-ELITE.
I think it needs a knobby on the rear. Grass gets slick.

I’m not much of a bike mechanic, but one thing I know is that chains should always be replaced when you replace a cassette.
Chains stretch and wear as much as cassettes do. And then you’re stuck on the side of the trail with a broken chain because of your massive quads.
Yeah, my massive quads have been wreaking havoc on my old bike.
I knew I should replace the chain too, I just didn’t want to rush my first chain install and decided to wait for the weekend.

One of my colleagues set up an intra-company challenge on Endomondo for the month of December. Just for bragging rights and fun. Anyone is welcome to join it, if they like:

How does Endomondo work? Do you log your miles manually? Also, why the noon start and stop times for the challenge?

ParticipantVital question: how do y’all prefer to pronounce “panniers”? Pan-yers, or puh-neers? Something else?

Tallulla is nice, but I miss Whitey’s. Used to go there after softball my first few years on DC.

ParticipantNotice the distance markers. Signs that look stacked on top of each other are actually about 1/4 mile apart. Now if you want confusing, let’s talk about the comment threads on reddit.
