“Ritchie Valens” subanagram: the word, 5 letters or moreCleaners
I know I’m not the first to find this word, but this place is near my office and I actually went in to drop off some clothes today! (ahem, extra points?)

It’s a quax. Strava tag it and post it on the quaxes for double points.

ParticipantIt’s a quax. There’s your double points. Strava tag it and post it there, too.

Those frogs are brilliant. I want those outside my door all year long.

Those are some super snazzy Doggo boots. Good find!!!
Aren’t they adorable? I was riding a path around a tiny lake and passed this doggo twice and wanted to take a snap–cute dog and cute boots!–but it was too cold (18 for the high that day) to take my gloves off. On the last lap, I lucked out that these two were still walking on the path, so I stopped and took the photos. I was told that the dog did not like his boots much (in that cold, it’s safety first), but I told the dog he looked very cute in them. I hope that helped him overcome the discomfort.
Btw, on that ride I was also thinking about how they’re designing bike clothes with similar reflectivity to capture the movement of the legs, so this doggo also embodied good hi-vis cycling principles.

ParticipantThere are no pups yet, so here’s a submission for cat 10. More crappy pics–I have to figure out how to get good snaps when it’s too cold to feel my fingers and I can’t stop to look at the photo until I’m home/in my car where it’s warm–but these little feet were all lit up in my headlight. Cute doggo boots!

ParticipantCategory 5: Someone somehow put a string of lights on a tree between the bike path and the lake at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. Not the best picture because it was 15 degrees out and very windy so I didn’t fuss with photo composition, but this brought a smile to my face even in the bitter cold. Dwntn Minneapolis in the background. (I’ll try to get a better picture if it warms up before the lights disappear/I’m slightly less frozen next time I pass them.)

ParticipantMy beloved team, I’m sorry I’m letting you down! I’ve had migraines for the last week and the streets are solid ice (I only wish I was joking), so even trying to buck up for a 1-mile ride is a daunting prospect. I promise to be back at it ASAP. Go team, go!

I flew into National Airport yesterday, nabbed a bikeshare bike from the new CaBi station and rode home. As I came up through the Crystal City Connector tunnel, I noted the Peruvian Brothers food stand. I also noted that I was hungry. Win-win.

Looks like that character behind you is trying to steal your ride.

They are pure geekery!
Magic booster packs are packs of 15-20 cards that you can use to construct a Magic the Gathering deck. Magic the Gathering is a collectible card game that has been around since the early 90’s. You can find more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering
Percentage dice are ten-sided dice. One counts by ones and the other counts by tens. In this way you can easier keep track of your “score” or “life” in Magic from 1 to 100 by adjusting which face of the dice are facing upwards. I also use them when I play D&D.
I don’t know what those things are either, but I have a couple of friends who would know what those things are and applaud you, so I applaud you.

Nice try sdots and clearly you like to test the boundaries beyond even consularrider but I’m going to have to DQ this one as (1) the boundaries of “impounded water” are not clear, (2) I’m not sure if that is a bike or car wheel in that pic?!:-0
Perhaps I need to move to awarding fractions of a point for intent rather than outcomes, especially re pressure testing the game’s rules [emoji849]

That’s OK. It was all said in jest. The photo is to point out that even cars can’t get over the icebergs that crop up in the bike lane–the car lane is clear, but then you hit 20 feet of that iceberg crap in the bike lane–so there’d be lots of “impounded water” examples if I had a larger field of view in the photo. (Oh, how I miss the “icy” days in MD during BAFS.) I’ll stop being a sarcastic time waster now. There’s only so much of that allowed on a given day, after all.

Well I guess that a snow ⛄️ pile does indeed constitute “impounded water” which is “freely accessible to the public,” so the faceless cabal grants @consularrider his well fought for #lakefinder point!!!!

OK, I live in Minnesota and haven’t not ridden through snow (in fact, lots of not riding because I don’t know how to ride on streets this messy–don’t own a fat-tire bike), so I’ve got this competition in the bag. Good to know!

ParticipantOh my gawd. I’d better get active in this competition because I spent several childhood years glued to my Lite-Brite. But that was in the 1970s, so the box was about 6 times bigger than this new-fangled one appears to be. Still, I must do my childhood self proud. https://www.etsy.com/listing/228875208/for-kburney-vintage-1978-hasbro-lite?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details
