ParticipantJudd, I’m really looking forward to the bike polo match you have planned for us on this ride. Front lawn of the White House?

ParticipantFirst entry this BAFS season: was biking on four mile run and saw a cyclist with her bike flipped upside down underneath one of the overpasses. It was a beautiful day so lots of cyclists out, but no one stopped or even asked if she was okay. She had cross chained in her big chain ring and her chain fell of her cassette and was jammed between her spokes and her cassette. An easy fix albeit a little greasy. I have her a quick tutorial on shifting and was on my merry way. Moral of the story is if you ask someone if they are ok and they say “I think so”, they probably aren’t.

Team 18’ers. I am planning on riding in the WABA strong women ride this Saturday with some extra infiltration on Team 14’s happy hour at the Caboose in Vienna afterward. Please let me know if you want to be part of the shenanigans.

Yes SteveO. I have been sleep deprived for 2 weeks, so I have a typing impediment. Shameless plug- check out my new projects at Sackler, DCA, Air & Space, & Hirshhorn which all have the same completion date of Wednesday

Greetings folks,
Anyone interested in riding the hills of Arlington this Saturday? I used to do a Saturday morning shop ride with Tri360 that winds through North Arlington, here’s an example:https://www.strava.com/activities/287755517
These rides ended after the Tri360 closed down. I’ve been told that Conte’s Falls Church has restarted this ride as of this past weekend, so I’m wondering if anyone is interested in doing this ride, and then ride out to Caboose afterwards to grab some brew & food? For those that prefer not to do hills, we could have a second group that take an alternate route and just reconvene at Caboose afterwards?
Thoughts?
HF, for those not wanting to do the hills loop, I will volunteer to take a crew on the Strong Women Ride on Saturday (meets at 10am at Howard U metro station) and then meet your group at the caboose after. Any ladies interested???

Yep, I am a Marylander. With an SUV. I suppose I should be glad it is grey and has Chesapeake Bay plates?
I usually get much more scared riding around people with vanity plates than war of 1812 plates regardless of the state.

You’re most welcome! Since not a ride per se, easy peasy to do if all you’re doing is giving people a time and place to meet. Will have to figure out the next one!
Yes, thanks, Chuck. It was way too much fun!

Infiltrators welcome! You might outnumber the Team 14 folks who show up!
Since I’m infiltrating, I have a sneaking suspicion that one of your teammates might make it as well!

It’s not, but if you have one, it would be fun to place atop this memorial for a group picture. You just need a friend with knitting skills to make you a helmet sized hat.
Indeed- perhaps I could trade someone some knitting hours for drywall mudding or rebar tying, which are arguably my better skills. Consider this my “wanted” ad

It sounds like you’re both the kind of women that are interested in seeing a little known monument that was a gift from the Women of America and dedicated by a former First Lady. Good thing you’re coming on this ride, cause you’ll get to see it.
I hope it’s not a stone carved version of one of those little pink hats. Btw, I have yet to find one that works as a helmet cover, otherwise the tiara might have been upgraded.
